A vista installation guide?

Hi guys ive tryed downloading the SPQR mod tons of times and i gave up after about 14 nights of trying, yes i am desperate, if i start another julii or brutii campaign again i will die. Me and many other people keep posting on here and i was wondering if somone could make a step by step guide to help me and any other computer dumb people like me. People try explaining it to me and all i ever here is vanilla, (ice cream??).

also so i dont open another thread would it work if i just built up my economies and then expand when i am rich and have reformed units?

Do you need help installing RTW and SPQR or do you need advice on how to play the game?
I had alot of trouble installing RTW on Vista but should be able to help you if thats the problem.

yes pleas be more specific. your question is a bit chaotic.

i installed the original rome total war game (vanilla?)
im ready to download the mod but where should i download it???


so the question is
ive copied the rome total war file and im not sure where to put the spqr file

you need to install the files to your rome total war folder this probebly will be

c:\program files\Activision\Rome - Total War (this can be different if you have installed your game in an other folder)

no in the original rome total war folder. the install file adjust the original files to the SPQR once in order to make the game work.

in your directory of rome total war. do you have an english version of windows?

***EDIT***

when you start the installation file of the SPQR mod you just need to enter the path that u used to install your Rome total war game to.

NOTE : your path will likely be different then mine becous i made a choice of installing the game on an other hard drive and arranged all my rtw mods in different folders for multiepel installations.

i give up it all goes spaked up stupid vista i unsinstall things and they are still there thanks for the help but i have no idea of what im doing, ill just stay with the PS3

would anyone who haS downloaded this mod on !!!VISTA!!! possibly make me a step by step guide on how to download it where to put all the files etc please. Ive deleted my Activision folder and will start downloading vanilla again

i don' t know if this will work for you but an other guy is using vista and plays an other mod. try what he did maybe it will work for you to.

olks I run vista home premium 32 sp1 and at the moment play xgm, extended realism and PI. no probs. I have not tried this mod yet but I found this to help a lot. I disabled the user admisnistrative authority function. Vista likes to yell at you for doing this just ignore the program there is no harm being caused by this unless you do not run an independant virus scanner.
how to do this/ start menue bottom left / control panal/ security/ click turn off user acount control under other security settings.
