    Default Family trees

Alester Florent is the heir of Stannis, meaning that he will continue the legacy of Stannis after Stannis dies. That excludes the entire family of Stannis from ever ascending the throne, making their family tree inferior (in importance) to Alester Florent's. Families tend to grows big and it's difficult to manage the royal family if you can't view the family tree. Is it possible to view several family trees? If not, is it possible to replace the faction leader's family tree with the heir's, so that it is Alester Florent's tree you see, and not Stannis'?

Nope. This is a system we have to work with, the hardcoded fact that Stannis does not have an heir, behind Alester Florent. It's hoped that Florent will die before he sires children, so Stannis's kids get the throne again.

"Five had been his brothers. Oswell Whent and Jon Darry. Lewyn Martell, a prince of Dorne. The White Bull, Gerold Hightower. Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning. And beside them, crowned in mist and grief with his long hair streaming behind him, rode Rhaegar Targaryen, Prince of Dragonstone and rightful heir to the Iron Throne."

Or you can make sure he dies when you have descendents of your own...

Whoever becomes faction leader, his family tree will show up in the scroll. So if you decide to let Alester become lead, the Stannis tree will be replaced by the Florent tree.

you can always adopt a general as your faction heir-for stannis...

    then alester dies in battle....
that will make the general the new heir. this at least keeps stannis's tree in play.

also buying time for him to have a son, hopefully.
then you just use the general as a stop-gap 'regent' until he is of age

I've recently lost two faction heirs because of their "bravado" leading the vanguard.
The next heir is exhibiting signs of this same eagerness too. I guess its too bad for them that an Arryn made his way into the family tree. Must continue Lord Jon's legacy...
