    Default Message from the Curator

It has come to my attention that, through malfeasance or negligence, applications for citizenship are not reaching the CdeC.

If there are any members who, since June 1st, have applied for citizenship and did NOT get a PM directly from me, please contact me.

If there are any Citizens who, since June 1st, have patronized a member for citizenship and did NOT get a PM directly from me, please contact me.

I take this situation with the utmost seriousness and those found to have intentionally suppressed applications or abused their positions of authority shall be dealt with in the harshest possible terms.

    Will you announce their names?

Agreed, new clause in the constitution for the immediate stripping of citizenship for people that do that, and a bunch of vonc threads.

Not dramatic enough, public brutalisation with a pineapple would be more fitting.

I shall prepare the marigolds in anticipation of the event.

Why waste a good pineapple?? A baseball inside a smelly old sock maybe.

On the more serious side, maybe we should make all patronization requests public. Note the votes, not the discussion, but instead of sending a PM the person patronizing would post it in the Proth, and the Curator would post the results of the vote once it concluded. Sort of like how the Tribunal is, a bit more open.

The problem is that some members don't want it known that they failed their citizenship vote.

But you already post who succeeded the citizenship vote at the end of each month! It wouldn't take a genius to know who didn't succeed.

I do see where you're coming from, though, Hotspur.

    hmmm....

Don't you have direct access to the CdeC as Curator? If you don't, then that's all that needs to be done. I thought you did, and I would think that direct access would allow you to have a more hands on look at at least the process. If you don't, then maybe you should, so that then no one on the CdeC can hide the vote for whatever reason.

Seriously, though, who would do that? It's not the most mature act in the world...

Of course I have access. I'm the Group Leader for the CdeC. The problem is that I have no way of knowing when an application is forwarded to a CdeC member for posting.

Not a bad idea, certainly would bring some entertainment to the Curia. Write it up I'll support.

That's not a problem to us, so it's not really a problem at all.

Well the fun is that the smelly sock will make them smell bad, vs the pineapple that will make them smell good.

    Thats the problem

I have no doubts that you did nothing wrong B, but that is not to say other members of the CdeC didnt. If they received a PM from someone patronizing someone else, and did nothing with it, you would have no way of knowing.

The report only says x amount passed and y amount failed and you only know who passes. There isn't a list that says x amount applied they are and only y amount passed they are.

Ok, ok, fair enough. I mis-remembered exactly what information is given to us at the end of each month. All I remembered was that you gave us pee-ons more information than previous Curators had, exactly how far that extended was my faulty memory. I knew that we have always known who passed, I thought for whatever reason that we knew who was put up for election in the first place anyway.

Ah, I see the issue. I also misinterpreted the initial problem. For whatever reason I thought you meant it makes it to the floor and then nothing happens.

Exactly how have you figured out, then, that there are a number of people who haven't been brought to the floor?

    Actually, sctrach that question.

A possible remedy for this without actually telling us who the citizen's to be are themselves is to have a more public posting area from the patrons themselves, something like a ">patron name here< holds a peregrinus up for citizenship" in a more public location. Then as you look throught the CdeC pages and notice that a patron is missing you'll know something scurvy has happened.
