I would conquer Caen from the english in the first five turns. Usually the english will offer you a ceasefire a few turns later. After that conquer as many nearby rebel settlements as you can: Bordeaux, Bruges, Dijon, Metz, Rennes. Turn Angers into a town and buildup your settlements.

Northern France will be the most exposed to English, Danish, and HRE attacks. Therefore build your power base in the south. From there expand, take out English first.

well france can take rennes, dijon, and bordeoux on turn 2 or 3. antwerp and bruges are great to go from there cause they make a lot of money. I suggest u leave angers as a castle actually, and turn bordeaux to a city...cause its coastal, u make a lot more money with coastal cities. In fact i woudl strognly consider making toulouse a city also, and maybe turning dijon or something into a castle but i didnt in my campaign and it was fine. anyway, it should be pretty easy to get 9-10 regions as france in the 1st 10 turns or so, and then its just the endgame heh. I expanded into italy after that. denmark and hre and england might attack u but its no problem, they cant commit too much agaisnt you cause they have other flanks to worry about. Milan is gonna be the most persistently annoying if u let it live tho.
Don't take it personnel I was just teasing you a bit
@DarkYellowFire ps yea my english is verry Bad I Cant help that i got problems on school with nglish Lessans Sorry for that hope you guys understand that
No worries dude you explained it and I understand, what is your birth language??
I usually turn Bordeaux into a city as well. But you should turn Angers into a city as well if you've conquered Caen. You don't really need 2 castles in that area, Caen starts as a stone castle unlike Angers and it's in a good spot for an invasion of the British isles. I don't turn Toulouse into a city because it's in my opinion the best french castle and it's in a good spot for invasions of Iberia, North-Italy and North-Africa.I suggest u leave angers as a castle actually, and turn bordeaux to a city

i have been playing the game yesterday a lot and i have still Toulouse as a castle because i Can create the best units for now
than Caen, i have bribe that from the english so they have no foothold any more on France Land
then somthing else, the pope is a big problem now for me because i saw he kills every char on the map from me so i have dicide to march to Rome and Take it, and i have take it in France Power. now still some other citys are my to now, but the problem is the Papel Stats do Election for a new pope And then agian i go to march to the popes army
in easy way to say how my Relation with the pope is : Verry Not Friendly Earth Enemys LOL but ok so long there is no crusade called agianst me im happy and i can go to kill the pope afther pope, i realy hate that guy because In RTW you can take every thing what you want and here in MTW2 you got a blok of stone around your Feats (The Pope)
I got Hole France Territory ,now I Invading Spain and the Italian Lands
maybe ill will post a picture of my Empire if i know how Lol
ps yea my english is verry Bad I Cant help that i got problems on school with nglish Lessans Sorry for that hope you guys understand that![]()

Take out all the Rebel territories on your borders before you turn your attention to your neighbour states.
If you beseige Rebels (even with quite a puny force) until they surrender, quite often they will go down without a fight.
You can have, what? 6? territories right off the bat like that. That gives your economy a nice start.
The last of the famous international playboys.
I thought to mess a bit with Fraqnce because of this post. It has been a while. My first objective was Caen which kicked the English off of the continent. I then swept Rennes, Bruges and Antwerp. All by occupation -- no sacking. Converted Caen to a city.
Just taking my time. By turn 35 I have built up well and control modern france, low countries, Metz, Bern. About 22,000 per turn gross revenue. Allied with Denmark, Papal States, and Milan. At war with Spain -- had to kick their units out of Bordeaux. It seems easier than when I first started. I suspect HRE will be the first big conflict since they are at war with Milan and recently excommunicated. To bad there is a crusade to Cairo.
I am certain that the rest of the posts will tell you that they can take more territories, take them faster, etc. I am just saying your approach will be fine and probably will not be like the others. Have fun!!!
had a french campaing ones, did really well untill I were butted by the
ing
pope.
damm I hate that child molester
France is very interesting campaign if you play it not too fast.

Netherlands but the english lessans are hard to follow and i do my best for it, a other problem is that i typing to fast so my word english is also verry bad than
If that's the case, don't type fast. If you don't want to be ridiculed for your spelling and grammar make sure you are writing things down correctly. Now, I believe conquering a few rebel settlements and then developing your nation is fun. Then you can use your better units and invade other factions. I for one find it boring invading a castle with mailed knights, peasant archers and perhaps some spear militias.
Most recently I was playing as France after watching Kingdom of Heaven and installing the retrofit mod to add the crusades units to the normal game - so in the first couple turns I conquered all the rebel provinces that I could around France.
Then when I got my alliance with the Papacy to up my standing, I immediately called a Crusade on Jerusalem and marched all of my family members toward the Holy Land, taking Prince Louis through Spain to wipe out the Moors and conquering Rhodes and some of the other rebel settlements around the Black Sea.
I captured Jerusalem, Antioch, Edessa, Acre, and Damascus - and then changed my capital to Jerusalem and ceded all of my other provinces to the Pope. So I had four crusader cities and kept Damascus as a castle to supply me with units.
So now I'm the French but I'm effectively playing as a Crusader kingdom for the fun of it! I wiped out the Egyptians and was at peace for about 120 turns until the Byzantines messed with me so I wiped them off the face of the planet and and now currently am finishing off the last of the Turks after a recent crusade called against them.
So yes, THAT's what you should do with France, or England, or any Christian faction because it's a lot of fun. Doing it as France was great though since I was able to grab about 17-18 provinces before I made it to the Holy Land. Then I watched the Pope vault to power and other factions get excommunicated for trying to land grab the Pope's stuff, heh.
Procrastination: Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now.
How did you wipe out Moors in just few turns did you say??
