    Default Battle system confusing ...

    Hi, the battle system is a bit confusing to me. So i wonder if you can change back to original RTWs.

    We are not planning on any changes a la vanilla values. All mods have different approaches to battlestats. It takes a while to get used to it. Play some custombattles.

    no offence but you can't just come into a forum and demand a total re-writing of the mod just because you're not used to it and don't want to change the way you play. do as Athenogoras says and get accustomed to the gameplay.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    We will immediately change all of the custom battlesystem back to RTW vanilla style.

    It was just only a work in progress of nearly 4 years that sticks in this system and is still an ongoing task of updating, but that doesn't matter anything ... yes we will stop that now, very good idea.

    Any chance for this exam? Very low, because the established Anthropocentrism destroys the basis of existence.

    Give it some time. You get used to it. The problem is if we change the battle-balance to much as you suggest it would take very much work to "balance" the game again. It would delay further releases many many months and would have rendered years of hard work to nothing.
    You are of course free to make a vanilla version of the battlesystem yourself.
    If its good it might be put in the submod-section after the final release.
    You have to look at two files.(descr_mount and export_descr_unit)
    Look at vanilla values and change accordingly.

    No hate at all ... but i'm totally disgusted by such a request. Never have read such an attempt in any TW mod forum ... it is just completely out of question to re-design the combat model back to vanilla, and i think this is more than naturally, i actually wonder how one can think something like that. My advice would be to think twice, before writing such things that are in your mind. And to get first a few infos (ie. how old the mod is), then i can't imagine you would ask such things. Btw., this is circa like you would ask Mr. Bill Gates to rewrite Windows XP back to his version Win 98

    My guess is he´s referring to the similar attackstats for infantry. Almost all
    infantry has attackstats of either 1 or 2. Thus making armour and "hidden" stats like lethality and timedelays between attacks more important.

    time delay is just how long between each attack a soldier makes, lethality is the chance that a sucessful hit will kill (remove a hit point).

    Argh... Im sory for my behaviour really am. You dont need to change the battle system at all... Its just that im used to vanilla battle system... Soz again.

    It´s already forgotten brother. No need to be sorry. Critisicm is always good for the mod even if we dont like the idea. In fact your post has made me think how to make it easier for the player to see what units to use.

    Was the poster perhaps originally referring to the Chivalry battle UI (User Interface), rather than the actual mechanics behind the battles? If so, then I don't think he was asking you to change quite as much of your work as you think. Of course, there is every possibility that I am wrong. However, I must say that the UI in Chivalry battles (being so akin to MTW) did take a bit of getting used to, and, I think, has one or two very minor drawbacks (the drop-down menu that comes from the top of the screen can get in the way sometimes when you give a move order to a unit, for example), though on the whole I am quite happy with it.

    That is very possible and was something I never contemplated. I honestly disabled that the first time I played it.
