Rock/Rap SHOWDOWN!

Which is better? People say rock makes you feel, it has meaning and substance, well rap does too!

Rock, but some rap is just as good, or better.

Depends. I think there is more quality rock than rap, but some rap is incredible. I'll take Nas or Organized Konfusion over 99% of rock.

It's just different If yopu love rock you are always going to say It's better, the same goes for rap.
However my rocker heart tells me that rock could kick rap's ass any time.

I'm a rocker. But I'm sure there is some pretty awesome rap out there, which I will certainly explore one day. Both are better than mindless pop music on MTV

Instead of saying "Rap just kinda sucks" I think I'll go ahead and make an effort at reconciliation and say "rap doesn't suck as much as pop".

I find rap to childish I stopped listening to it when I was 11 now is just some guy talking so fast you can't understand him to me.

I will say its better then pop though.

Exactly.

There are a lot of good rappers out there the problem is that people is not going to find them in MTV the same goes for good rock or metal.
My only problem with good rap is the music not the lyrics I love changes, arrangement, leads and that kind of stuff that is not likely to appear in rap music.

You can't beat rock and you know it!!!

Well,I'm a rocker myself as well,but Rap doesn't suck,only the "Hoes and es" part of it does.

I'm a metalhead, so of course I voted rock, but I will say that rap isn't bad. Much like commercialism has tainted rock, the same is happening to rap and the MTV-viewing generation has a skewed prespective of rap.

Rap is not a music genre. It's rhythmical yakking. Case solved.
All the actually musical parts of rap come from either blues, jazz, disco, etc. but rap didn't give any contributions to modern music.
