I like the grand bombard when attacking settlements, serpentine in battles.

Also, changing monster cannon to 6 cannons per unit with 20 units vs 400 peasants = fun

Any artillery that kills a whole flock of enemies with one strike. It makes the most impact on the morale and with a bit of luck you'll hit the enemy general. But I can't help it, I always feel like a little B... using artillery in a field battle. Feels like you come to a joust in a tank.

I have never really been a fan of the serpentine. Perhaps I am using it wrong but its accuracy really does not seem all that much better than a normal cannon or culvern and when it hits it seems to take out less men.

I have but not as much as the Culvern or regular cannon. Right now I'm playing the tuetonic campaign as the Danes and they don't get anything better than the cannon. Also if I remember correctly the english dont get anything past the culvern do they?

True, but you can add all cannons to the faction you wish to have it. You don't need to change battle_models.modeldb or anything advanced like that either, just EDU and EDB and ui/units, just copy the cannons from a faction like hre, who has every cannon.

Mortars! Just love the huge arc they fire in, very useful.

Mortars are probably the best Cannon all around in this game, maybe except for the Rocket Launchers that belong to the Timurids

I usually end up playing early-mid because I either crumble economically or the nearby enemies are all too weak to fight me in the field... Sieges got boring because I had to fight so many.

So catapults! Get 2 units of em aim at the middle of their army and smile when they manage to hit! (I use flaming shot)

Its great on attack because the AI often lets you bombard them while they sit on their precious hill.

I don't like artillery, the closest I've come to a unit that I would use is organ guns! XD

Good vs the mongols. They also botch up siege towers and well... just about every type of siege equipment. Wouldn't assault a late period castle or city without a bombard though, but hey thats why we have 'auto resolve'

Grand Bombard for siege... Monster Ribault is good against infantry. But I don't like the original Ribault.

I must to try Monster Rib. against elephants... Later, against the Timurids...

I really like the Basilisk. It has a decent rate of fire, huge power against buildings, and very high accuracy against units. Recently I've been playing as Spain, and fighting the Aztecs. My Basilisks have been netting at least 100 kills per unit per battle, and in one battle that went against 2 full Aztec stacks, I racked up 200 kills per unit of Basilisks, and I had 6 units in my 2 full stacks! They also were instrumental in my recent destruction of the Timurids, as I fought one battle where I had 3 full stacks against 2 of theirs, and a Basilisk got a shot off on an elephant artillery unit and caused it to maul one full enemy stack.

The only thing I like as much if not more is the mercenary elephant artillery. They are just completely awesome! It's like having 7 serpentines all firing at the same time, but only taking up one unit slot. They run out of ammo pretty fast, but if you haven't gotten 200 kills or more by the time they're out, you're not using them right. And, after they run out of ammo, you can still use them to run over enemy infantry!
