Icon10 Alpha Delta appreciation station :P

Well, This is a thread for us all to express our admiration for the creator of this awesome mod.

King Kong has one of these threads, so I figured AD had more than earned his own .

Well, to get the ball rolling, I love the music in this mod, especially the battle music. I must tell you, I've had some eye watering moments when the band strikes up the Grenadier's march, just as my men recieve a volley of cannon and musket fire, whilst marching in time with the drums .

I never got this sort of experience with vanilla, or any of the other mods. There's some serious genius behind the choices made in this department, I must say.

I must concur, the battlefield ambience adds a certain element of passion and glory,of real men engaged in a battle for hope, honour and pride in the face of a withering hail of fire, much better than the pseudo hollywood soundtrack usually heard.

i was a member of the sealed knot society that reenacts this period for 25 years, ive fought in very large battles and i can say that this mod brought back memorys!i was a little concerned that it might turn into normal mtw in different clothes, nothing could be further from the truth.the troops move and fight like the real thing, and the ai is ideal for this kind of warfare.this is the game ive been waiting for, well done sir!

Ditto, Jingle_Bombs. A worthy thread. It is easily comparable to my first NTW2 experience for the RTW game. There is something tactically refreshing about using troops in a gunpowder war which relies more on movement and timing than sudden rushes of cavalry and infantry. Dare I wonder about online multiplayer?!

Haha, you guys are so naïve. AD lives in Thailand where labor is very cheap. He’s got workshop where bunch of poor people work on the mod for as little as free tickets to transsexual show.

Strelac is just bitter because I wouldn't let him star in the transexual show!

    lol

But srsly. AD doesn't make mods. He makes legends.

Rep that man like with the same intensity you'd run away from a thai lady who turned out to be thai lady boy. Okay that was rather long and convulated but you get the point.

I have just downloaded this mod (haven't played it yet - I just checked the campaign map, units etc.) And I have to say that this looks absolutely amazing.

I have only one question: How have you managed to create this extensive mod so quickly??? I remember it was like just 3 or 4 weeks ago that I have seen this in Wips, Ideas and proposals therad.

Brilliant work - now I seriously need to do some reading about this english civil war and start my campaign.

Other than mapping I had done it all before. I was the co-author of Broken Crescent.

Doing something a second time is always easier and faster.

    Cheers

This is Art, and nothing less.
It looks pretty much complete to me as it is, your mod. However, traits and overall "period savvy" for lack of a better term, is what it needs which would take a dedicated researcher of the time to create. Using that knowledge and developing the mechanisms to see it ingame and actually be worth playing takes time. No way around that.

I guess what I am trying to say is that you must keep on with this mod and that there should be further releases down the line, focusing on said areas, because everything else seems covered up and covered VERY WELL at that.

This is very true. Traits/ancillaries are definitely not my area but I would really like to see a major overhaul here. I'd also like to see a better recruitment system implemented that extends the conscription system that I setup already.

    Cheers

Just installed, patched and played one battle in the campaign.

I'm not a big fan of the battlefield command UI being at the top of the screen, but I'll get used to that.

Otherwise, I rate this mod as Weapons Grade Wootonium.
