    Default Crusade event

    Hello!

As you may know, in the Crusades campaign, Richard and Philip appear representing the Third Crusade. Is it possible to script the file so they will become family members or heirs immediately when they appear?

If the mod starts in year 10, can I add it in the descr_strat for year 40?

You add them to the family tree, make them much younger so they age by the time the script fires, and "send_character_offmap" at the beginning of the first turn.

and may posterity forget that ye were

What if the campaign starts in 1135, the character must show up in 1190 (as family member) and must not be 65 years old? Can't we modify the "#rd Crusade event" in the Crusades Campaign o he will show up as family member or heir?

What's the problem? You create him in 1135 with the age of 1, send him off-map, and spawn him in 1190.

If you are displaying turns instead of years, then yes the turns will say "65" and his age will be "65". It really isn't a big deal considering what you get as a result of this functionality.

Excuse me for being so n00b, but if he's 65, won't he die in 2 turns or do? Is there any other way?

Isn't the maximum age 80 or something?

The idea is that you make him part of the family at the start of the game. You can't make him a heir at the time of the spawn.

Just felt I should point out, 1135-1190 = 55 years old, not 65 years old. That probably would be an accurate gauge of their age at the time anyways. As well, try searching this forum for "age" "age limit" "increase age" and etc., there's threads explaining what file you need to touch to make the max age 99 so they will live longer. It is one of the .xml files but I don't have the desire to find it since it has been mentioned multiple times in the last few pages.

    Cheers,
    Augustus
