    Default Turning Brutii to Sparta

I'm trying to create some polis (city-state) factions. I'm going to turn Greek Cities into Syracuse, Brutii into Sparta and the Scipii with another. I have not decided which yet. Anyway, my question is.. is this possible? Since the other Roman factions were taken out of the game, will I be able to do this?.. Maybe this should be asked in the modding forum? But since it has to do with the Roman factions being taken out in RTR, I wasn't sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying something vaguely similar, using the brutii as a british faction. Any idea how much work will be needed?

To change a faction to another one, you need to:

    1. Do a lot of coding to change the faction name, political status, starting locations, etc etc
    2. New units are needed (for britons you could use the vanilla ones)
    3. new 2D art like banners and logo's

Doesn't look like a long list, but it surely is a lot of work
If you really are going to do this, you will need a lot of tutorials in the TWC tutorial section...

    Good luck with it

That will make it historical inaccurate

I know, but I would be making the mod for my planned barbarian community RPG, where historical accuracy is not the most important factor.

To change names you will need to change expanded and expanded_bi.
To add nits, mod EUD, EDB, etc.etc.etc.
A load of work, good luck.

What happened to Bruti then, did they disappear?

    They never existed...
(or at least not in the way RTW vanilla represents them)

Yes, that would be the right to do then. if they never really existed. but some people love those three factions in vanilla.

but the historical accurate mod takes them out, which I prefer as that gives you 3 new faction slots

    Yup,

Our view on this is that it isn't fair to give the Romans their historical civil war, but then don't do this for the other factions. But doing this for all factions would take too many faction slots. So we choose to have one Roman faction etc etc

(+ we have three more factions to spend now like deci said )
