    Default Trade resources

hi, I was wondering, SS 6.1 has relatively few resources and I was wondering why all the resources brought in the new kingdoms series were not included...Many areas of the map seem rather empty like middle egypt could have had fruit resource and honey resource could have been included.Would there be any way this could be done?

Quark is the one who can answer the specifics of your question. I can tell you that in SS6.1 merchants have a harder time earning a living. My recomendation is that you embrace becoming a "Reload Prince" to build up your merchants. The good new is that merchants are not nearly as aggresive as in vanilla.

Hope this helps.. If Quark doesn't stop by after while you might want to PM him. Unless someone else answers your queries.

While new resources such as weapons are certainly valid as trade goods, the whole economy system of the game is screwed up. For instance if you place a slave resource in Cairo to represent that they gained trade from such, the value of slave resources is actually reduced for egyptian mechants. As such its very hard to calculate the effect of adding resources to the map on all factions, and one of the keys to the game is to control the economy of players.

To much money in the game makes it to easy, to little boring. You need enough to allow for some builds every turn, but allow the player to swamp the Ai. As such KK decided to reduce the resources on the map in an attempt to control the economy and stop/reduce 'super' merchants who earned 2000 a turn.

Personally I would much rather see things like Monastries on the map (you can edit resource images if you are good at 3D art).

To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.

What I was trying to get at is more variety of trade goods on offer, it adds tremendous diversity and depth even if merchants dont make as much.
