Default TWC - The Model Example of Globalization

TWC is a great example of globalization. It is a forum hosted on servers in Texas owned by a Greek who lives in Taiwan about a game designed in Britain for an American Company (Activision at the time) with the CD produced in I believe Brazil.

So for those against globalization fail to realize its not all bad shipping jobs overseas. It is also making products available around the world to everyone not just the people whose country it is produced for.
“The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards.”

Ohh, that is a remarkable thread in the history of TWC ...

Indeed, TWC shows us that globalization can be great and that people from many different countries can share a part of their lives together getting along well and making something good...

    TWC rocks man

Yes but TWC is a constant morass of vindictive backbiting, petty squabbles, communication breakdown, vendettas, barely contained racial and nationalistic slurs, and a revloving door of burned out moderator peacekeepers. Globalization example? Sure. Globalization good? Well.....

There's nothing wrong with globalization of ideas and trade, but political globalization with tendencies of concentrating all the power of decision making in certain centers of power is what we, the alter-globalists are fiercely against.

From my perspective, Farnan's example scores a point for alter-globalism.
While it is both a good and a usefull thing to cooperate and interact economically and culturally - we should be able to do so without being policed by NATO, IMF, G-8, or any of their eastern pandans for that matter...

What we need is a restructuring of the global economy and a fair re-distribution of the worlds wealth and scientific knowledge

If the world were run by members and groups of thinking in this forum, we'd all be dead by now.

But then again, if only this forum's staff members had a say into what actually passes and doesn't pass in world affairs (much in the same way as the current world order is set up), then we'd be a bit safer, but still in dead end.

Ahh but you can go further with the example since the music for the total war games are made by a candian living in australia. But I do agree that tc serves as an example of globalisation however whether it is a positive example is another question.
