Default Unable to play battles by myself.

Greetings, I've been experiencing problems with my RS campaign's.

Everything works fine in my current roman campaign, (I play all my battles myself) I've taken Italy, North-Africa and Spain, but now when I play against the Gauls, and i choose to play the battle by myself, my screen goes blue when I click "Start Deployment".

(Not blue as in a computer hardware crash) My UI is still visible, I can still select unit cards, and press start battle, but I can no longer see the things other than my UI because they are all blue.

Anyone with idea's as to the cause of this bug? I play with Alex.exe

Have you recently upgraded a graphics driver or any other software?

Post specs of your PC and graphics card. Also let us know what resolution you play at and what graphics options you've selected.

There doesn't appear to be anything weird in that. Can you play other games that are slightly graphic intense?

The only thing I'd suggest for graphics settings is to reduce unit detail to high so that you get the benefit of the sprites, this will take a big load off of your system. Also are you using the most recent drivers for both video and sound?

    @ Brusilov:

I can play M2TW with all options opened up up to 6000 units on screen, no probs.
C&C3: Tiberium wars + Kane's Wrath with all options opened up, up to 8 players in combat at the same time (even nukes dont slow my comp)

    @Squid:
Im going to see if there are any more recent drivers (i usually check once a month, i have updated since 1.5b was released, of that im certain)

Edit: New update i just realized, the problem never occured to me until i removed my RTW installation (all of them) and reinstalled it, patched it (1.3-1.5), installed Alexander, and then installed roma surrectum (1.5a full install + 1.5b patch)
This is first time ive played with Alex.exe and now its starting to happen

I doubt that it's Alex that's causing the problem - it sounds more like a graphics card or something weird has happened to your install.

Alright did a full reinstall, works good now (from time to time still get the blue screen, reloading fixes this tho)

Also checked all my drivers, everything is working fine and up-to-date according to the auto update software by nVidia

    Thanks for the support people

What auto update? Do you have a link?

My understanding with nVidia is that you need to uninstall the graphics card drivers manually before installing the new ones. (I do that for all my nVidia cards.) Did you do that in the past?

I used ATI cards for years and their installs did not have to do this.

Nvidia cards are notorious for their oddball install procedures. I love their cards, but it is best to uninstall the old drivers first, then immediately re-install the new ones and restart the PC.
