    Default Billmen

    Hey guys....

Just a comment and questian about billmen, IN the first MTW, billmen where tanks thy could kill anything and hell i could even take out jannasary heavey inf with just two units of them lol Now thy are weak and pathetic, and the next thing is THere bill Is just a hook with no ax on it? or pike point? In the first game thy had the multi ax/pike/hooked pole arm now you can't even see the hook with out straining your eye balls out....I don't mind them but it hink one unit of them needs removeing from the roster so thy can have a unit of late pikemen like france does I miss Englands kingdom units.

isnt a bill with and axe head called...a Voulge-guisarm?
Which is a different weapon since there would be quite a few differences in fighting style between the two...[both are polearms but the added axehead provides "new" and different ways to apply dmg...so someone who is proficient in the use of the bill...would be familiar with the use of the Voulge guisarm, but not proficient with it]

so...it makes sense that Billmen carry bills and not Voulge-guisarms...

You missed my point, The point is that in the first total war game thy had a halberd looking pole arm...and at the moment You can hard SEE the killing end of there pole arm lol its so Tiny you strain ur eye balls out to see what the hell it is with a tiny bump on it This is why i said i think the devs need to to give them a hybrid bill hook with a small ax on it with a point like thay Really had in RL....and in the first game

Well, I don't have too much to say about the aesthetic aspects of the unit. It is disappointing though that they're so ineffective. They need a bit more staying power to be useful. As it is other units in the roster are just more effective. Armoured Sergeants are more effective against cavalry and any of the sword & shield infantry is more effective against other foot troops. They're terrible in sieges too because of their lack of staying power. Either something needs to be done to increase their survival ability or they need to have their offensive capability increased somehow, whether it be across the board or at least against cavalry.

Its not hard to add armor to them, or increase their attack a little. There are quite a few unit imbalances in SS in my opinion, but we have the tools to fix that.

Keep in mind billmen greatly excel against HEAVY CAVALRY... considering they get +6 against mounted units and have ap, and are relatively cheap units.

My suggestion would be to up the unit amount to 75 personally. Or increase their attack by 1 but reduce their effectiveness against mounts from 6 to 4 and increase defense skill by 1 to make them more useful against infantry but slightly less useful against horses. You may want to up the recruitment cost/upkeep cost as to not make them too powerful.
