Peaceful India or not?
Hello,
I usually lurk here and well, I'm smitten by this board, so I thought why not and sign up. So hellp TWC, I'm The Democratic Man, or TDM. Nice to meet you.
Now, I was browsing the Pakistan threads, and while not a supporter of Pakistan, one poster said that America should support India. well, I just read this news story:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7637087.stm
Now, we have a Democratic India, that was once governed by a Hindu Extremist party that sitll holds power in the south. It has declared a War on those trying to break others out of the caste system because once you convert to Christanity or anything else, you can't be classified under the caste system.
What Christans are doing is to convert the untouchables and make them have better lives. Understandbly this is a good thing getting out of the caste system, but these Hindu Extermists are destorying chruches, desotrying livelyhoods so they can expolit the untouchables in every way possible and keep the barham and such on top.
Now my questions come from this. If we say no to religious extremisim, how can we, as a democratic and free nation and fighting our fight against terrorism, be a ally of India over Pakistan? At least Pakistan's government was never controlled by extremists without the exception of the Military.
The Hindu Extermists have declared that Pakistani Cricketers are open targets and that Christanity is a target too. India does fight agianst terrorism, but only agianst Muslims. How is this fighting the good fight of terrorism globally without the exception of religion?
I say we should say no to either countries until they get their acts togeather.
