    Default EU3: In Nomine Mods

Hey guys, I just recently got this excellent game, and its freakin addicting. I've been hearing a lot about mods such as Magnus Mundi (nostalgia....)

Would you recommend a mod for a beginner player like me? If so, which one, and what's so special about it?

    Thanks

Ah come on Liam, I know you don't like WWM but you don't have to make it public Now back on subject. I also reccomend Magna Mundi platinum and Terra Nova for there interesting gameplay although the maps arent so pretty.

MMP is a fun mod and since you heard of it already its probably one of the first you should try.

I really enjoy WWM Because of the expanded map I think that MMP plus WWM would be a really good (if not perfect) mod.

I like the WWM basic version. I grab the map changes without the gameoplay rule changes. Then I combine it with other mods and/or my own mods for an experience I enjoy most.

But TOT 3.0 is a MUST. Makes the map beautiful.

Magna Mundi Platinum (or MMP) is by far the biggest and best mod out there.
    Its abit hard though....

In contrast to the efforts of tiny Israel to make contributions to the world so as to better mankind, one has to ask what have those who have strived to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth done other than to create hate and bloodshed.

MMP is not kind to people who annex left and right have high BB constantly. Otherwise I do not think its really all that hard... its just different and you can't play t he game like you do vanilla.

Also if you are in the Empire and you want to take land its ridiculously difficult.

China for example is FAR FAR FAR more fun in MMP, so are ALL non-euro nations. Bohemia with the hussite wars is ESPECIALLY fun. Also how the game handles religions and empire politics is very fun as well.

Its fun being mongolian and having raiding parties go into other nations bringing you back gold. Or being a north african nation and funding pirates. The events and scripting make the game infinitely better. However wars are far less forgiving

Don't forget the barbary states and the knights!

With the barbary states you can prey on your neighbors with no penalty, but hoo boy when it comes to dealing with the pirates, you better be nice or not do anything at all. When I first started I decided to seize pirate property and fight piracy. Well, that gave me a nice trade bonus (as algeria, which has a CoT in Oran), but years later the ottomans came to me demanding I compensate the pirates or face sanctions. Needless to say I paid a hefty fine.

Regardless in my later support of the pirates they were a very nice source of income to finance my conquest of Tunisia and Morocco, as well as the portuguese colonies (surprisingly easy considering the chaos portugal was in), in addition to the Mali provinces to the south. I'd planned on becoming a colonial power as the Algerians, but even though I've modernized, the fact it takes twice as long for non-christians to learn of discoveries made by christians (200 years) has really killed that ambition, meaning I'll have to settle with eventually colonizing the gold coast. It's great fun. I'm in the 1600s and I've not conquered the world, and I kinda like that feeling of vulnerability despite my stature in the world as one of the top ten richest countries.

I tried playing as algiers and morrocco both times either ai algiers or ai morocco beat me. My war readiness and manpower dropped like never before while his stayed at 100% and he just kept pumpuing out soldiers. Either MMP has some sort of unlimited mapower stuff going on for the ai or I don't understand at all what they are trying to do. The events are fun and all but if you are going to make wars hard by making the ai invincible it isn't really fun anymore. Oh well MMP seemed like a fun mod.
