Default England vs Scottland vs France!

Yeah, I'm playing as Good ol' England fighting the bloody French and Scots. They have allied against me! I have two strong armies North of York, and three Strong Armies in Northern France.. with reserves in Nottingham. I'm trying to push toward Paris and capture the French captial, and trying to just suck the blood out of the scots by killing off there military, then try for vasselship.

Just kill the Scots off. Vassals are not a solution to the problem in this game system. Take out the one settlement that they hold and deal with the rest as rebels. If you have waited so long that they have more than one settlement, take them all at once.

France is not a threat unless you have really waited too long. If you need to give up Caen -- so be it. Get the isles secure! You can always reenter the mainland at your convenience.

I always kill the scots in the first 10 turns without getting excommunated afterwards I take all of the island and then take care of France

Yeah, by now you should long have captured the isles and control most of France. In you next game you should really try to be quicker in the beginning, and this is true with ALL factions.

I agree with you but I don't like the Blitz thing as I'am more of a slow paced player , I feel that it's more realistic to play that way

Same here man, I edited the game to have each turn as one year instead of two years.

Also, I like getting into wars with Scotland and France, then after butchering them, I do a ceasefire and do it all over again! HEHEHE

What do you mean by Blitz? I do not tend to sack, but that does not mean just seiging and always waiting for the enemy to sally forth. I also do not like to autoresolve -- in the beginning the number of units is low and you should be able to out position the AI easily. Good training for the later engagements!

As England -- just take York as quick as possible. This settlement has no walss and the quicker you have free upkeep the better for your economy. Wales and Ireland are tougher to take. Ireland (Dublin) only need 2 turns of seige before a sally forth so waiting there can be useful.

On the continent -- take Rennes ASAP also. You now have Rennes, Caen, London, Nottingham, York, and Dublin and all but Nottingham should be cities. While doing this get a diplomat down to the Pope. Do not be side tracked with trade agreements and other nonsense. Plenty of time later when you have ports to trade out of. Get a trade agreement with the Pope. Seperate negotiation gift 200fl per turn for maybe 4 turns. After 2 turns go by, renegotiate and gift again for 4 turns. When you think you can get an ally out of the Pope -- do so.

Also, the Pope likes churches and priests. Build them. Do not build all econ structures first -- just the low level land and then a small church (after the first barrack structure for free garrisons, of course).

With the cross status up (and higher than the Scots) take one Scotland. Maybe turn 8 or 9? Keep the gifting up and press on with the seige and assault. If you have done everything to make the Pope happy -- you may not even lose rep for the take out.

If this still does not work for you, remember that any excommunication this early in the game will be reconciled by a new pope or your new leader. No one will be calling a crusade this early.

No Blitz means IMO cheating for me for example: You start a new campaign and in the first 10 turns you capture like 6 or 7 settlement that is blitzing, why I say it's kind of cheating cause in real time that would'nt be possible and this gives you quite an advantage over the AI as they don't do that.

I'am more of a slow player, I take my time, thoses who blitz are fast paced players

yeah I like to expand slowly also, usually i wait for a new family member before i expand, rather than visa-versa ...just feels more normal to me and besides, the AI is quite bad so its not like i wont win anyway. I like to wait until liek the last 30 turns, when i have my armies nice and totally set up with great experience and all before i launch the massive world conquest. Blitzkreig really isnt a correct term for this its sortof a common misinterpretation. It actually refers to a combined force arms with infantry, tank and airplanes...the misunderstanding i guess comes from the fact that u need to transport your infantry a lot faster if you really want them to work well with independant tank units....anyway, yeah, its jsut irksome to me to not own my island as england. i even like to abandon caen, gift it to france, and just slaughter scotland early on. then i just do a nice ridiculously long peaceful tech up, with just an occasional crusade perhaps, and when i get my final uber 6 full stack army, i initiate complete and rapid world domination, invading into denmark, france, and spain simultaneously. great fun.

Just fill your armies up with longbowmen (if you have them) or archer militia if you don't, if half your army is archers and the other half spears and a couple of cavalry you can pretty much destroy scotland in a few turns and keep france at bay, to defeat france yo do need decent longbowmen and either wella rmoured spearmen or heavy infantry.
