Default Making characters dead at the start?...

I'm wondering how you make characters dead at the beginning of a campaign...

I'm trying to create Scotland's campaign in being as precise as possible and would like to start the game in year 1093 after Malcolm and Edward Canmore's death at the Battle of Alnwick...

    Need help...

Where it says "character-record" in the descr_strat file do I change the "alive" to dead and add a year?...If so, I need to know how exactly it should appear...
