Playing as England

So has anyone got any post turn 10 tips for England? Do you usually take out Ireland or Wales first? What about Ireland and Scotland?

Personally, I find that if you can get that far, the English get very strong very quickly...

i tend to always attack Wales first, as they are very close to my borders. I will leave Scotland as it it and take Ireland after Wales.

After that you can take Scotland.

When you have conquered enough of the British isles, I suggest you convert some castles into cities, to make them provide you with enough funds to raise an army for future purposes.

when I play england i usually try to get wales fisrt, then ireland.
The irish get very strong very fast and once they feel they are good to go and take dublin and wexford, it means trouble.
I try taking out ireland as fast as possible.

keep the scots occupied by making sure norway keep the pressure up on them.

I am thinking over making a small change to the England campaign in version 3.8. My proposed change is to make Wales allied to Ireland at the start. The reason for this is that I have observed when you play as England if you get a ceasefire with Ireland they will just sit on their island doing nothing. I do not wish to see Ireland passive. Your thoughts on this idea would be greatly appreciated.

Wales, Ireland, then Scotland. I like to give the Scotts a chance to take Wick. I'm allied with Noway, and they're going to help alot later on (when you're starting your Northern expansion against the Danes. The bastards will attack you anyways - Visby or even a landing in England, near Nottingham).

Or don't ask for a ceasefire and just keep fighting them all .

btw, just started a French campaign (yeah, I know). Guys, if you think that England is strong, well, I have news for ya...

That sounds like it could be a very good idea, although it would require some testing to see how it affects the AI. In theory it should draw Ireland into more conflicts, and make things really hard for England.
