Cant play online in RTW

I cant play online in RTW, i have 1.3 and 1.5 installed, and it lets me get to the lobby and look at the games, but when i try to enter a game, it will always say "Failed to join (GS) and i really want to play online, iv tried relogging, and restarting computer but nothing works

Try looking at this thread first which deals with How to Play Online.

If your copy of the game does not match exactly, it will not let you.

What do you mean if my copy of the game matches exactly?

If someone has modded files then everyone needs the same set of files in the data folder.

Also consider using the same map.rwm file.

I had the exaclty same problem. I had hamachi installed on my laptop and cannot log in any game eventhough I can see and chat with players in lobby. Unistall hamachi if you have it.

We've used Hamachi without problems for RTW VII TIC and I even managed a RS1.5a MP game.

Some people have more problems with gamespy than they do with Hamachi.

I had a friend with the same problem. We tryed again and again to play online with each other and he kept getting that same error message. We opened all his firewalls made sure he had the correct versions and ect. However we were never able to get him playing online. I belive the problem may have to do with opening or configuring ports, im no expert but thats the advice I got.

My suggestion would be to contact GameSpy support and ask them how to configure it for their servers.
