Ok, so there has been another school shooting here in Finland. So far there has been nine confirmed dead and many injured.

Absolute horrible and disgusting. I lack the words to describe this event, I thought that Auvinen was just one crazy invidual, but now another..

This is really a shocking news indeed. I don't understand what's wrong with people like this guy.
Year ago, when there was shooting in Jokela, I really thought that something like that would never happen again in Finland. It seems I was very wrong... Now this really makes me think my safety too. Something should be done for prevent these kind of tragic events in future, more money should be used for mental health services to spot this kind of people before they do things like this.

Looks like the Police had talked to him yesterday because of those videos that he made, but they did not take his gun 'because there was no need for it'

Sigh. I would not care less about a normal guy feeling bad about confiscation of his gun if the other option is nine being killed in a shooting.

What can I say, what a total waste. I feel quite bad for the victims and their families. I hope we tighten the gun laws somehow, and take a good long hard look at the state of our mental health care. Finland already has the highesst suecide rates in Nordic Countries and we are among the countries with highest gun densities.

This film is good if you want to understand this problematics better. Basically there are kids who are misunderstood, lonely, depressive, under too much pressure or whatever and sometimes they crack and do things like this.

It's ing scary that someone could just kill people at random, I can see a sick person justifying a few revenge kills but this is incomprehensible.

Its natural for people to be violent. Slow and calm life does not let people express their violnet nature. Lack of extreme situations in life causes them to make something terrible.. Thats why Romans had gladiators..

I agree with you on most of what you said, to me when something different to my normal schedule happens, I kind of look forward to it. An example (although I didn't look forward to it) is the Georgia war, I must have had an hour of sleep in a period of a week, just because it was was something different. But now I see again how boring this world is. Although I am not suicidal about it.
