    Default Inheritance Total War

Not sure if this has been suggested before, there are a lot of pages. I think a mod on the Inheritance Cycle, Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and whatever the fourth one is. Factions would be Urgals, Elves, Dwarves, Varden, Surda, and the Empire. I would do this myself but sadly I have no idea how to model or skin anything, although I might be able to do a map. What do you guys think?
It is well that war is so terrible — otherwise we should grow too fond of it- Robert E. Lee

    You should look here:

Some people are working on this for Rome: Total War. Last time I looked there it didn't look like any of them were skilled modders though, so the mod is rather iffy at this point since it seems to be a lot of hot air from people who've read the books writing information and no actual coding or artists. 21 pages with only faction symbols as produced work doesn't bode well for the mod, but then who knows, maybe they will surprise me.

At any rate, I'd say there's about a 1% chance anyone would be interested in making another mod for M2TW when there's already one for RTW that is shuffling its feet, and most people won't work under a leader that can't mod, so if you really want to pursue the idea, I advise you read this thread:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=74208

And then go learn some aspects of modding, because if you can't mod and ask for help, you won't find much of it, that's just how it is. Everyone has their own ideas about what a good mod is, and as prof so bluntly puts it:

If you had your dream skills, would you be content working at the whim, or even at the same level, as the former-you? Why would anyone who possesses great skills work for/under someone who lacks any real skills? Do not expect to find people much more talented than yourself. And do not expect them to work on your project. They will often naturally come along to 'pop culture' projects such as Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, but it is highly unlikely a skilled artist will sign up for a mod that has skins made in MSPaint.
If you do decide to pursue this project then I wish you the best of luck, but I'd say you'd be better served joining an established team and learning how a team works and some useful skills first.

    Cheers,

Actually the old mod team gave up. However you could ask some of their mod leaders for the old files (they solved dragons I think). If you want to try I could help with unit and faction ideas.
