    1. Click Start
    2. Click Run
    3. Write C:\program files\common files\InstallShield\Professional "ENTER"
    4. Rename it to OLD

    Are you sure your RTW is v1.0 and not v1.5 by default? If you have BI install that. It will also upgrade RTW and you can skip the patch.
    The v1.2 patch is not needed anyway.

    Yes i am sure that its not 1.5. I dont have BI.

    Okay found the problem:

    1. Click Start
    2. Click Run
    3. Write C:\program files\common files\InstallShield\Professional "ENTER"
    4. Rename it to OLD

    (that should help others that is getting the same problem, will change the topic to Soloution to error 6001)

    Thought that this maybe needed a bump so everyone could see it!

    Google for it. Be surprised what you may learn including a dirty registry and/or bad installshield file.
