In all honesty, what do you think the odds of an assassination attempt are on Obama? I don't mean some crazy wacko trying to get his way through SS Agents, I mean an actual, organized assassination attempt aimed at removing him if he does indeed get elected and replacing him with a 35-year political veteran? Does it not seem logical? Would this situation not merit absolute sense from a political point of view? I hate too say it, but I would think out of all assassinations/attempts on presidents, that this current situation would definately seem to boast a logical standpoint. Would it not make more sense to have Biden as Prez? Just curious, because I talk about this issue alot and I fear for Mr. Obama that even with SS, a determined enemy can prevail. We learn this in the security field, simply, no matter how much you think you are prepared, a determined enemy is ALWAYS and always will be 1 step ahead of you.

No, but people may be bitter over Obama's lack of experience, or the fact, well, he's not white... Why were there assassinations/attempts before? There's always a reason behind it.

I would rate the odds of Obama dieing before he leaves office as much much lower than of McCain dieing before he would leave office (or even making it to election day for that matter).

Considering the rather passionate disdain for the current President by, well, almost everyone, I would have thought any organized assassination attempt would have already been carried out if it were to occur. Why would a man nobody wanted in the primaries (several times now) have some fanatical following that would remove Obama to put him in charge? If it is Obama's race you're concerned about, take faith in the Secret Service doing their jobs.

I'm not saying that people WANT to put Biden in power because they are his biggest fan. I'm saying, the odds of an assassination attempt on the first Black US president seem fairly logical judging by history. Are you seriously considering it won't atleast be attempted during his term? It's not so much about Biden, however, it only backs up the point of doing by the fact that Biden is one of the most experienced politicians to run for VP, isn't it?

No, I'm not so pessimistic as to think a black man is a given to be assassinated upon gaining the Presidency in this country. What "history" are you going on by the way. Obama's candidacy is a first in history. Former assassinations and attempts have been for political reasons or committed by people with general mental instabilities and quite often both. Any "organized" attempt on Obama's life would be carried out because of his ideals not his skin color.

I don't really see Obama being assassinated for the sole reason of being black. If he makes certain people unhappy, however, that on top of the fact that he's black can potentially cause some trouble. Still, I sort of doubt he'll be so careless as to upset people enough.
