    Default Shorter end turn length!

Ok, so I've seen this question pop up quite a few times, and someone hinted me to put the solution to the end turn length in here as a sub mod.

It's not really a mod, but I've removed a few things from the campaign_script.txt and custom_script.txt to improve the end turn length.

    The things I've removed is:

    Princesses comes of age
    Fall of Capitals
    Faction Leader Dies
    Great Councils
    Tournments
    The merchants convention thingy...
    Those pesky pirates

    How to install:
Piece of cake, just copy the files into the correct folder AFTER MAKING BACKUP!

    The campaign_script.txt goes into C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign.

The custom_script goes into C:\Programfiler\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\Late_Era_Campaign

And remember to backup if you don't like the changes or if you get a game crash out of it.

Compatibility: I really don't know, but as long as your other minimods don't change the campaign_script.txt, or custom_script.txt, it should work just fine.

    Hope you'll enjoy it

    Thanks for sharing the files!

Just my personal opinion, but I think you've gone a bit too far in removing things. I've also removed the Pirates, Princess, and Kings from mine. I kept the fall of Capitals because it gives me an idea about what's going on in the rest of the world, but I can easily imagine doing without that.

The Trade Fairs, Tournaments and Great Councils are some of the cool interactive features of SS and allow one to have more control over development of agents and characters. Eliminating them removes some of the distinctiveness of SS, IMHO.

This just points out the trade-off between features and end turn length. If one is looking for a "SS Lite" with faster end turns, this'll do the job quite well.

IMO these events are minimal in distracting form the actual SS experience, thats just me though, I would rather not have them than have to live with 5min/turn

Exactly. Different people look for different things. Although I've never experienced 5 minute end turn times, I understand that others have. The files provided above will help a lot with that. If the trade off is elimination of features you don't much care for anyway, then you're going to be happy (which is the overall point).

For me, on my low end computer, this made SS 6 playable, and removing what you want yourself isn't really that hard. All of the events and stuff are at the bottom, and if you want to, say, remove the princess comes of age, you find the title saying just that, and then remove everything, until you come to the next title saying something else. As always, make backups.

you could try removing everything from 'STARTING SCRIPT FOR NEW CAMPAIGN' to the start of the money script. It removes everything regarding first time play and is honestly useless if you have played more then once...

Also, i would suggest opening your configuration file and disabling (or deleting) the log. Your game will run slower with the log turned on simply because the computer needs to keep track of everything happening, without the log, there is no need to keep track and therefore your game should run faster...

Tbh, that didn't increase the speed by much, and it's not very noticeable.

While removing these things does gain some time, the real problem is in the turn itself, i.e. while each faction is taking its turn. I close all those popups in 5 or 6 seconds, but the AI turn takes about 2 minutes.

The turn lag is caused by the Grim BYG. Run the patch and do not enable it.
