Which is the best heavy cavalry, heavy infantry, missile cavalry in SS6.1?

Royal Military Academy had analyzed all units and shows you the ranking in all respects. Which is the most powerful heavy cavalry? the strongest heavy infantry? and the best mobility missiles cavalry...etc. Help you to select a faction for new game, or to organize your army, or to command in your battle.

The Score and Ranking depend on the calculated result, from the database and an objective formula.

According to database, We calculated the ranking in 6 parameters (Attack, Defence, Mobility, Cost, Recruit, Popularity) by a complex objective formula, refer to many people’s research and experience.

Poland: Best heavy cavalry (Hussars), 9th are Polish Guards (although I checked that they can beat in 1on1 fight every single HC unit), best missle cavalry & javelin throwers (Piast Nobles), 5th missle cav in rank (Lithuanian cavalry), best mounted crossbowmen (Strzelcy- overall 9th best missle cav in game)

Conclusion: Polish cav is the best!!!

And now you have credible proof.

They're not so fantasy as it seems. They had several castles on the Mongol Empire's borders, stopping it's expansion, and were local military power. The "can hide everywhere" ability is fantasy thought.

It's pretty col, but some units shoud be ahead of others. For example, Retinue Lbows outscore French Archers in everything except for cost and popularity...

popularity has nothing to do with how good a unit is...so the research outcomes are wrong by default.

As much as I appreciate Hongas Work (+rep for the effort) I doubt that the popularity of a unit counts much on the battlefield.

After received many people's opinions, I have a few modification in the Ranking calculation.

Now the ranking shows by average of (attack, defence, mobility, cost, recruit) default.
And therefore the ranking we known may changed.

You can checking the box on top of the ranking table, average score will recalculate dynamic.

However, the score and ranking just a static result. Every unit plays good or bad depend on how your control in a combat.
So, this is the most fun in totalwar.

Average score not only shows the tactical ability in combat(attack, defence, mobility), but also shows the strategy value in campaign (cost and recruit).

Thanks for such a great resource, kudos to you Honga! I've always been a bit obsessed with the analysis of stats (even when it comes to games) so something like this is most assuredly helpful.

And to those who say that the ranking system may be flawed (IE inaccurate compared to your own views) note that there are handy little checkboxes for each column to include/disclude any factors you wish to rule out. For example, you can see which is best based on just attack or just defense, or both, etc. Very nice addition, thanks again for this nice feature.

As an aside, I've always been a bit curious; What country are you from Honga? I mean no offense of course, and am certainly not meaning to ridicule you in any way, but I can tell that English is not your native language.

This is really cool, but something seems pretty odd about Italian Cavalry Militia being the number 1 heavy cavalry. The games best kept secret, or evidence that there's more to a unit than the stats we're measuring them on? You be the judge.

Swiss guard is the best unit in the game imo, even compared to all the best of cavalry and whatever.

It's like one of the best heavy infantry units without its bonuses, it has spears which make it good vs cavalry, on top of that phalanx which means that it can annihilate any cavalry unit in seconds, it has effective against armor and combined with the high attack it can beat any heavy infantry unit easily, and it'll also help big time against heavy cavalry, so theres 2 bonuses against heavy cavalry. I needn't even start about light infantry, theres nothing that even comes close to swiss guards bare stats. Spearmen are easy for almost any heavy infantry unit.

Maybe a bit overpowered?

If thats really true that they were so skilled. I know that those swiss guard guys still exist today as the guard of the pope, I wonder if they're still so skilled.

Once you start modding your personal experience things can become completely different though. I gave every faction a stronger unit and am busy lately with giving some heroic units of about 10 men with 3hp and an increased attack and charge to give them similar killing power to a full unit. Very unrealistic but ever so much fun. I had send 4 units of modified ridire against an army of portugese consisting mostly of infantry and some knights, they killed half of them before less than 10 units fleed the battle. Thats 40 ridire against about 800 portugese.

Agreeded, sure they are range oriented but after shooting the living hell out of any infantry unit that tries to engage them, those guys have little problem killing the 30/40 guys left in the formation.
