I am just kind of wondering which you guys prefer and why. Medieval 2 kingdoms or medieval 2 without kingdoms.

With because I finally get to use gunpowder without waiting for 50 billion years to go past!
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.
Kingdoms for sure! It's much more fun plus if you wanna play the grand campaign again just download a mod (SS6 or Retrofit) and you can play the grand campaign with all the new kingdoms features.
i didnt rly get hooked on the kingdoms campaigns, but it allowed me to paly SS which is great![]()

Ya, i would like to get some of those mods. Which website do you recommend that will not give you any kind of virus or whatever and has popular mods? The ones you guys mentioned sounded pretty good.
jsalit,
blashger has it right: The retrofit mod gives you Kingdoms units and upgrades within the M2TW framework.
I am finding I like Kingdoms for several reasons, the biggest of which is that a well executed long campaign is about 40 turns for Kingdoms, instead of about 100 for M2TW.
Oh, by the way: Welcome to the forums!
I don't. I win with my inferior units against their inferior units. In M2TW (vanilla 1.2), I typically win before gun powder or other late units can affect the outcome.Originally Posted by Drox
Vanilla is good, Kingdoms on its own are good too. But nothing beats the mighty SS!

What exactly does this retrofit mod do? Are you using kingdoms or M2TW?
The Kingdoms Grand Campaign mod adds just about all the Kingdoms factions to the vanilla GC. You need Kingdoms to run it though.
Anyhow, I found the Americas campaign extremely fun and refreshing. Lasted me a long time.

In Soviet Russia you want Uncle Sam.
The Custom campaign mod is also nice, however my only grip with it is that unit upkeep is so cheep that any sort of financial aspect to the game is taken care of for you pretty much.
