Loading save crash

Hello,

For a PBM I'm running, I've elaborated a mini-mod for EB, using several other mini-mods for it (with permission, of course). It runs fine for me and some other players of the PBM. The problem is that one player has a problem: he can install the mod, start a new campaign, but he can't open a save game sent to him. For a PBM, this is really horrible, as he can't participate.
I'm no real modder, and I've no idea what can cause this. Can anybody here help me? I'd really hate to have to say to the player that he can't play because of this...

I'm no modder myself, but why would a save sent from another, different, game work on your friend's modded game?

So long as you have the same install it should work OK - other mods of RTW are used in this way.

There is something different in the players set up - finding what is different is the hard part. Some people don't know what they've installed the game over and maybe select different install instructions than the 'set' version uses.

I'll direct him to reinstall RTW, and give really precise instructions on installing EB and the mini-mod. Seems like the only thing to do to me.

No problems. I know people are doing this for some RTR and Roma Surrectum campaigns.

You may need to make sure that the players use the same 'exe' either RTW or RTW BI or RTW Alex.

I think that it's possible to play with different unit sizes etc.

One thing that you might want to do is to delete or rename the map.rwm file (data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign). This file is created from other files in the data folders if it doesn't exist when a campaign is started or loaded.
