    Default 1.3 Kingdom unit changes already into Original Campaign?

    Hello, I've played Medieval 2 a lot before but when Kingdoms was released I was disappointed that the so called "unit balancing" was only done for the 4 Kingdoms campaigns.
    No change whatsoever was made for the original world campaign. The latter being the only campaign I really enjoy, hence the disappointment.

    My question is rather simple: did the developers (or a modder) create a patch of some sort that implements the unit balances from Kingdoms into the world campaign map?

    Yes, this has been done. Let me see if I can find you a link....

    Here is the link to the Description of the Retrofit Mod ; And here is the link to the actual download.

    The Retrofit Mod has been advertised by the manufacturer as a recommended mod; so, even though it is not their product (the mod), it is officially endorsed.

    To allow Kingdoms units to join the original campaign, there have been some balancing tweaks to non-Kingdoms units. Also, boiling oil returns to the seige scene. Enjoy.

    The Retrofit Mod retrofits various Medieval II Total War (M2TW): Kingdoms features, improvements and bug fixes to vanilla M2TW
    Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Appreciate it.

    I guess a lot of the units have been changed and my old knowledge of them should be reassessed.
    Any consensus on what the new 'best units' are?
    (Is there any threat about it?)

    Why did they take oil out in the first place? Not like it can kill the guys with the ram, but...
