Looks very promising indeed![]()

Looks great. Shall I do the same thing to the tunic on these guys as I did to the cataphract model and flip the lower part round 90 degrees?
Just thinking about the rivets on those square plates - I wonder whether you can add a bit more shading around the edges of them to make them look more dome shaped and also on the plates just around them to make them look lifted out from the plates slightly. I tend to just copy the rivet layer these days, darken a lot and the do a gaussian blur of say 1 or 2 then shift down by one or two pixels.
For the legs I'd suggest a little more darkening of the iron plates down the sides where the rivets are and down the front where the golden chevrons are. That way you'll probably convey a more 3D feel.
Here's an update on the Tanais cataphract (was Pantikapaion cata) - I've done the flip on the bottom of the tunic and it looks better (not a lot of work involved) - also improved the definition on the arm padding:
not sure whether you want any of the plate armour I did for the saka noble, but here's a bit:

With regard to the elite Saka unit above, I'm just looking to see roughly how plates on the bottom half of the tunic (i.e. "skirt") would come out using the new mapping - ignore the rest - guys, I'm slightly split as to which I think looks better....
Tim, this is just a mock-up to figure out which one we go for. What do people think?
This way the middle looks better but the sides aren't so good
This way the sides look great but the middle is rubbish.

I think that the first one looks better! The armor (tunic) is following his torzo(?) - if you look from the sides.
I agree with Pacco first one look much better

Great work as always. I also think that the first looks better. It is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.
Anyways, Pacco, what are you working on now?
If you need any information for an emblem of a mini-faction, let me know. Thx again for the amazing work you are producing!![]()

Kervanos, yes it's very much a question of the lesser of two evils.
As you can see for chainmail it doesn't make a big difference, which is why I haven't really bothered too mcuh before.

Any information what to put on them?
Ok! I´ll see.
Looks good to me...
Which banner the slaves depends on which unit is carrying it. These are Greek standard bearers we're talking about so now doubt they'll have Greek emblems.
Thinking further about it we probably need some Greek standard bearers too for the non-Greek factions as they'll be able to recruit things like city hoplites and so on. We'll also need a very generic Merc version for the paired up city hoplites - so for example the standard bearer for the Athenian hoplites get a different skin for each faction while the Corinthian ones (using the paired recruitable merc slot) will share a merc skin between all factions.
The other standard bearers we'll have are Eastern and Celtic - the Celts and Cimbri just get the boar - so no flag...the Eastern units could have either a flag or something metal - I'll find the sort of thing I mean.....
Love that Lion!

Thinking further about the Eastern unit banners we could do what I've done with the Romans and have a banner with a space on top for metallic bits.
For Parthia the banner ought to be the national symbol which became the Sassanian one - and probably ought to go on the standard bearer banners of any Greek AOR units the Parthians get too:
