Exterminate population in captured cities, raising taxes, build trader, roads, docks and other economical buildings. And of course, you can get trade rights with other nations and sell your map information.

Yeah those are probably the main ways you would do it. Just check out which buildings are most profitable, and build them. Roads and trade routes help a lot as well.

There's little you can do for corruption, except send corrupt family members on an excursion involving deadly pirates.

Another alternative is go and blockade someones port and then offer them ceasefire (at a price)

    Welcome to the forums, wreckernice!

Fastest way to get more money: conquer more cities!

Second fastest way: reduce your military.

Third fastest way: Build ports, markets, roads and mines. Take it easy on the farms. Make sure your army is only barely big enough to conquer more cities.

Fastest way to get some money - start a war and offer them ceasefire (works quicker with some factions more than others)
2nd fastest way sell trade deals, alliances, map info etc

Forget your moral scruples get diplomats and screw the other factions over big time

How do you keep your citizens happy ?? When you take a city exterminate the populace the dead never complain and stack up your building queue to keep your money pot below 50,000 will help to reduce corruption

There are three main levels for corruption, 50 000, 100 000 and 150 000, the more money you have the more likely it is that your governers and generals will develop unwanted traits and aquire congogmen such as 'The Lewd' and traits such as 'mildly extravagant'.

To reduce rebellions make sure that your capital is as close to the centre of your empire as you can, build public order buildings such as temples and odeons, also acadamys. It may be wise to place your best family members in problematic cities, their influence and management skills could keep the unruly citizens on your side.

Your military will be the greatest drain on your economy, minimise garrisons and note that it may not be wise to have very high taxes if more garrison is needed to keep order. Next disband any idle stacks and they will become taxable citizens, lose a penny, find a pound.

For construction follow this main rule. Barbarians like farming, Mediteraenean peoples like trade, eastern like both. Although farming causes squalor due to a rise in population growth ot does have its bonuses. I suggest designating small pockets of land to use for farming ie the North African Coast and gaining a much needed boost to your economy from those cities. Make sure you exploit natural wealth aswell, Spain for example has much mining potential, make sure you build mines there.

I suggest also that you experiment with troop types, find those that you like and dislike, by using small forces which you are comfortable using your commandrs will gain command stars more easily, your economy will be higher with reduced upkeep costs and reforms will be easier to carry out.

    Good Luck Amigo!

Generally I find the best buildings to make money are mines if you have them, and ports, especially if you're playing a coastal heavy faction like Greece or Carthage. It's common for a place like Athens to make several thousands a turn if you max out the roads and ports of the cities around it.
