I don't know where else to post this but basically I uninstalled RTW Gold Edition as well as Alexander because I was forced to in order to uninstall RTR. I had to get rid of RTR in the first place because in order to download and play another mod, Lord of the Rings: Total War, my RTW can't have any different mod(s) for it.
Problem is, for some reason I couldn't uninstall Alexander. I tried clicking on "Remove" in Add or Remove Programs but nothing happened. So I just made sure that everything else to do with Gold Edition was deleted and then I went ahead and reinstalled Gold Edition.
However, during the installation, I got the blue screen of death which I think dealt a mighty blow to my installation... After I rebooted I installed Gold Edition again but it got stuck at the very end of the installation.
By "end" I mean it appeared that everything was finished; the disc was no longer spinning or whatever and it looked as if the only thing required next was for that damn installation window to disappear. Unfortunately, nothing happened at all.
I closed the installation window manually and had to most unnaturally go into my Gold Edition folder to place the RTW and BI .exe files to my desktop. Usually, of course, they automatically appear on the desktop once the installation is finished. Fortunately, though, both games work. However, the messed up thing is that I can neither install nor uninstall (yeah, I know) Alexander.
No data whatsoever concerning Alexander is able to be found in my Gold Edition folder. At the same time, though, Alexander still comes up as an option in Add or Remove Programs. Additionally, when I put the disc in for Alexander the game menu comes up but the option to "Install" is not highlighted. The "Play Alexander" option is but when I click it nothing happens.
In short, I'm stuck and it sucks because Alexander is what I need in order to play LotR: TW.
