Can you upgrade Knights?

Just wondering if there was any way to transform my Gold Chevronned Mailed Knights into Chivalric Knights (or whatever the later Knights happen to be called). Seems wasteful to have to disband my kickass veteran units to make way for some newbie high-tech ones...

Anybody know a way? Thanks in advance.

Nope, not that I know of. Perhaps there is a mod out there some where that may make it possible, but who knows. I have always wanted to do the same thing though.

You should have read is post before replying, he asked if we could upgrade them to Chivalric knights not only upgrade the armor

That isn't possible. Mailed knights can't get plated armor.

You should've guessed from the name: Mailed Knights - Plate armor. Obviously they don't go together

Anyway, you can't upgrade them, but I usually don't disband them if they've got gold chevrons. A gold chevron unit of Mailed Knights will fight to the death whereas a greenhorn unit of Feudal or English knights will rout.
