    Default Question About Priests

Just wondering, are Priests still able to have their conversion effect on the settlement when they are inside the city? Or do they actually have to be out in the fields?

Also, am I right in saying that when Priests are inside the city walls, they are immune to becoming a Heretic, or being burnt at the stake by an Inquisition?

    Thanks in advance..

They are not immune to heresy. That's the only I can say.

from my experience Priests dont become heretic when inside walls - and yes you cant get "inquisited!" either.
I seem to get the best conversion results when they are out in the field - especially when they work in pairs.
If i leave a priest in a town the conversion rate hardly increases for me.

Priests inside towns can become heretics. I had trained one and he went over to the dark side immediately. Damned traitor. He was of course burned.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

And even better if they work in 3's, 4's, or... lately I had a dozen or more in one territory. The priest stats seem to increase better if they are successful at converting heathen lands; and the best way to ensure quick conversion is to gang up priests. So, instead of sending 1 priest to each of 10 different territories, I send all 10 of them to each newly conquered (or about to be newly conquered) territory. They stick around for a 2 or 3 turns before moving on to the next. I like to call it, "blitz-conversion."

Priest are better off, have more infuence on the Map than in the city. Their piety gets better also that way and your simple priest will become faster cardianl like that then in the city.

I've never saw one of my priest become Heretic when in a city but an Inquisitor can kill them

I, sometimes, saw an heretic going out of a city, making me think where did he come from. After double-clicking on them I noticed that his name was the same that a priest I had in that very city. So, I assure you that they are not immune to heresy when inside cities. And the inquisition strikes everywhere and everyone. They burnt a general in one of my cities. -_-u

I believe you for sure but I never saw that in my games but usually, all the time my priests aren't in my cities.
