Not without making some changes. The Kingdoms.exe is looking for a few new lines in the EDU, recruit_offset, and also looking for some boiling oil files and a bunch of other stuff. It can be done, but tis time consuming.

but the mods I install would be using the original m2tw.exe? I mean the 4 kingdoms expansion mini campaigns all act like a mod right? but they are coded to run with kingdoms.exe. the mods I would be installing, say broken crescent, it would be in it's own folder, and coded to ruu the original m2tw exe file right?

I am asking because I don't want to reinstall in case it will mess up my new installation. the patching process takes like 15 minutes hoping someone have already tried it and know the answer.

A mod will only function as a Kingdoms mod if you use the kingdoms.exe. Using the m2tw.exe will make your mod function as an m2tw mod. A mod can be a kingdoms mod even if it's not in the mods folder.
