    Default Thoughts..

Must say, you guys have outdone yourselves...

I've played bugger all of M2TW at all really, I did have a quick go at 2.5, but I was really hanging out for 3.0... I've been playing it non stop for the last three days, I've played a brilliant high era game as the Byzantines, destroyed the Imperium Romanae and now fighting a duel front war witht he Turks and Hungarians/Bulgarians. I'm loving it!

I recall working closely with Basileous throughout much of 06/07 so that the Byzantines got their fair share of attention for the 1st incarnation of CTW. I must say, you've done a great job so far, will we see more depth to come (ie: some more units maybe???)..

I've encountered a few glitches, and I will post in the bugreports area in the next few days.. However, I'll keep punching along and see how the game progresses..

Also, in my previous (first) game), I was on the brink of a civil war, my debt spiralled out of control, and I really like the traits and come along with it, just out of curiosity, is there a way of moving people that are rebellious over to loyalist/royalist?? Can you give them ancillaries or something???

Lastly, on ancillaries, I noticed a significant majority of ancillaries could be transferred between characters in the first CTW on the RTW engine, is this no longer the case??? I can't move Taticius, inventor, architect, overseer, quatermaster, dillmaster or anything... I remember being able to move them all in CTW...

Hmm, anyways, great job thus far.
    Keep up the good work.

    Marco.

Well, it is a very good mod by comparison with others but i have a complaint about this mod and it is in regard to the romanian faction wich emerges/transforms from the bulgarian one. Now i know the mod does not need to be acurate from a historycal point of view but i would like to point out a couple of facts:
a)As far as Bulgaria is concerned i know [learned a bit in school but also read about] that the Bulgarian Empire played a major role in the history of SE Europe so i would like to congratulate the creators of this mod for creating this faction but
b)As far as the in game representant of the 2 independent romanian principalities Tara Romaneasca and Moldova who emerged in the late 13th early 14th century i have to point out that the starting position is dead wrong and also even if it is a bit odd perhaps the Bulgarian state was not conquered totaly until the late 1390s so during the 14th century there were romanian and bulgarian stated on both banks of the Danube.

Also there are some facts about romanian military wich i would like to mention -- what made possible the independance and later the autonomy of the romanian states from the Ottoman empire was the military capability and the dreadfull wars fought by the romanians and the turks up to the 17th century .. The romanian military be it from Muntenia(Wallahia-Tara Romaneasca) or Moldova had 3 components:
-the mass pesant levis wich in times of invasion was raised and could number up to 40-50.000 men and wich were equiped more or less like spearmen
-the permanent military forces of the nobility (the boyars) wich were in a proportion of 99% horse mounted troups
-and the small mercenary or profesional guard of the ruler .. wich in times played extremely important roles(for those of you who know about "Dracula" aka Vlad Tepes a 15th century ruler of Tara Romaneasca -- the main stay of his army were the mercenary guards wich he employed with great succes both against the internal oposition and foreign treaths

So if there is to be a romanian faction wich could represent the 2 romanian states of the Middle ages it should at least boast a very unique troups rooster based on very cheap to train but expensive to maintain light infantery .. a profesional light knigts (to say so) unit and some crude artilery options because those were also employed even if not in large numbers plus good mercs options because the mercs were used most of the time

So i hope i did not write to much and i also hope my opinion will be taken into consideration when(if ever) developing the next version

The Renaissance campaign is still beta. Just to clarify, the Tara Romaneasa does not emerge from the Bulgarian faction. Rather it just used the Bulgarian faction slot, since Bulgaria was incorporated into the Ottoman Empire.

If you would like to make suggestion regarding the Vlach faction, please post in the faction thread (will be easier for me to find them later):
