RTW install problem
Hi all
Seems like there are quite a few of these around, but i didnt see any (only browsed the first 5 pages) that could help me.
Since i got a new machine, i've not had RTW installed. I guess i got a serious attack of nostalgia, so i thought i wanted to play it again. Install took a while, but went without a hitch. I then went in and did the tutorial without any problems (to unlock the campaign).
Now for the problem. I also own BI, and was planning on installing that immediately after (as that also patches up RTW), but upon popping the disk in, i get "no copy of RTW found". Also tried to apply the RTW 1.2 patch with the same results (it asked if i would like to specify an install location, i answered no for now).
Then i went over the registry, and under "The Creative Assembly", its empty, no values.
I also have MTW 2 installed, but thats under SEGA in the registry, there was no listing of RTW in there.
I've not tried the imperial campaign (but did unlock it fine, so dont anticipate any problems as such), but this is RTW 1.0, would have been nice to get a few patches in, as well as BI
Does anyone know what the problem is, and how to fix it ?
Thanx in advance

Re: RTW install problem
Never mind, i got my answer from this thread.
In case anyone runs into the same problem, for some reason, "The Creative Assembly" folder in my registry didnt give me any write access, so i couldnt modify, add, subtract, or even delete the folder. I had to right click, set "permissions", and then delete it. Thats probably what stopped the values from being entered during install.
As im running standard WinXP Pro with administrator rights on my login account, something must be very funky with the RTW installer..
