    Default How to get...

The levied Latin Infantry+Latin Legionaries unit (cheap+relatively reliable flank). I would like to recruit them (as Epirus), and I think I am supposed to be able to. Yet I am not. I have Arpium and Tarentum, and neither of them train Latin Infantry.

How do I get them, oh mighty gods of Diadochi?

Unfortunately, the gods mock you - There's no Latin Infantry and Latin Spearmen.

There is, however: Italic Infantry and Italic Spearmen! Just build Auxiliary barracks in Italy..
If it doesn't work then I probably have wrong hidden resource markers and it will only work in Croton.. Should try and fix that for the next patch.

Actually yeah, that's exactly what's wrong.. Try this as a temporary fix: just place it into the xgmd/data folder, it should ask for overwrite.
Remember - the more input I get, the more effort you can squeeze out of me to work on this mod. So far I haven't had much input so it's been pretty much on hold, but if there would be a little bit more activity and feedback(reviews), I would be quite excited and motivated to work on making this mod better.

Magister: Well, anything will help, really. Did you ever finish your Achaean campaign, or did the CTD's kill it too? If I'd only have some more feedback on these annoying bugs and then some help to get rid of them... it's not like I know what's causing the CTD's.

RedFox, I've advanced quite a bit in Achaen League campaign. CTDs did not kill it. I'll post a few pics of my empire and some comments as soon as I can.

    Can Achean League train Spartans?

At start, the Greek city States have Sparta.....But I figured that they were more like a rebel-like faction ....independent from each city.....So I wasnt too sure who's able to train Spartans.

GCS only can train Spartans, I guess. But I am sure of one thing: Achaens can kick spartan asses pretty well

Yeah, honestly the troops aren't very balanced around Achaia and the Thebans pretty much wipe off spartans. Sure the Spartans have some good hoplites, but they're no super-men, just formidable enough. The situation in Southern Greece is pretty dull anyways and it's hard to make it more exciting...
The stat balancing may be a little bit off though, haven't checked on those for a while, but it should be nearly impossible to capture Sparta on the first turn with Achaean League on VH/VH. Some further AI tweaks may help to make the IGCS more stationary too, instead of 'flying' away with all their troops like they do.

Too bad about those Spartans. In original XGM they are like super-men. I quited liked XGM about that. Especially if you play as a non-Greek faction and you had to fight them.

Here's a suggestion to spice it up, Redfox. Make it possible for all Hellenistic ( thats spelled correctly? ) factions to build Spartans. So Achaen League, Greek City States and Macedonia should be able to recruit them.....cuz in a way, they are all Greeks, right? So Sparta should be on their side once its been taken over by a faction that is Greek too.

And upgrade their unit card so they are quite powerful again ( the 2 hitpoints was in XGM that made them so powerful ). In XGM I usually altered the recruit cost and time: recruit cost = 8000 / recruit time = 4 turns if I'm not mistaken. I kinda disliked the ridiculous cost + insane long training time. My 8000/4turns was more acceptable for me.
I played as Romans back then and offcourse the Greeks build some spartan units...but its not like they were present in each of their armies....even though I reduced the costs and training time. I did an invasion on the Greeks after 100+ turns I think....and they had like 5 a 6 units of Spartans. Rough battles....but very cool!

So if you play as a non-Greek faction in Diadochi, you will always get the chance of seeing and fighting them......making them the hardest opponents of the whole game....and thus a kickass challenge.

Well, currently, all Spartan generals have the Spartan Royal Guards - with some experience they pretty much become super soldiers. There are some generic spartan hoplites, they're somewhat stronger than best regular hoplites.
