    Default Crash to desktop

Playing as Ptolemaics...I often get a crash to desktop.
Usually when a fight starts and I want to fight it myself instead of auto-resolve then i get a CTD.

Or when the round starts i sometimes get a CTD.

    Should I try a reinstall?

I got latest version of Diadochi + Patch installed. I also use cheat toggle_fow to see the entire map ( I read somewhere that this might cause a CTD ? )

I also got a few CTDs, but after reloading the last save I could go on. I play on version 0.927b. I think RedFox released other two patches after that. What is the version you are playing ? I usually disable 'follow the AI moves' thing, FoW-on, autosave-off (people say it's buggy). You could enable FoW just before clicking turn end, Rogergargantua.

Hmmm, I got version v0.92B ( full version ). After that I ran the update patch v0.929c. So basically, I downloaded all the latest stuff.

But maybe its worth mentioning that I first deleted the original XGM mapfolder. Then I installed Fourth Age ( another mod ) mod. This mod cold also be uninstalled by just removing the mapfolder.

They offcourse say that the mod files dont affect the original files of R:TW and BI. But you cant be too sure.

I think its best to reinstall the whole thingy and backup my savegame.

ps. how to disable auto-save? Its in "options" ? ( cant check now since im at college )

Well, if both mods do not affect vanilla, they probably should not intervene with each other. You could reinstall the whole thing perhaps. After all it will take a few minutes. But, it should not help if a bug is involved.

I reinstall sometimes, when I exhaust all my little test procedures. One simple procedure is: save your game before clicking turn end. Sometimes this is the difference between getting CTD or not . Another test procedure against dumb CTDs: save game, quit game (to Windows); start the game; load the savegame and then click turn end. Do not ask me about the reason behind all this: all this procedures are empirical, but if this does not help, then something more serious is in the middle. After all, TW games are still a non-linear environment.

You disable savegame feature in preference.txt file. Just find the corresponding line and change it from TRUE to FALSE. And, do not forget to save your game frequintly.

For your interest: There's probably nothing wrong with your game folder. This is a beta version and with limited time (and pretty bad effort), there are quite a lot of bugs. I don't have much time to work on this mod lately, but if you guys could explain these CTD's with a little bit more detail, it could help.

There might be a problem with some AI formations for the greeks, so that's what is probably causing the battle CTD's. If you guys give me more input in some of these CTD's I could try and fix them and release patch v0.93b. I have no idea on the Campaign CTD's though, I really need input on those - what year, which faction's turn.. etc.
