Unspecified Error in the midst of an ERE campaign

I have had this problem with BC before, and I know there was something one could do to fix this problem. I save every so often, but after i saved at this particular spot, it said Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. I can no longer load my game either - that particular one. This was a good 25 turns into the campaign, so something happened.

I remember someone mentioning a fix about this a while ago. You have to delete a certain file or something and it fixes itself. Anyone have an idea?
