How exactly do you mean? The generals in game do this to a certain extent: They will receive traits based on what they do (such as possess an obscene tongue or an affection for drink). Further the women they marry will affect them as well, some will give them bonuses to stats, and some will give drawbacks.

Other than this you could edit the files within the game directory in order to give yourself a general with certain qualities. A google search should come up with the proper files and commands to do so.

Mod it yourself, it isn't too hard. Or you could use the console cheat codes to make a general into what you want. Check or ask in the mod forums for more info.

You can change everything but name in descr_strat, just press ctrl+f while in the text file, and search for the name of the general, for example "genghis" if you're mongol. And there you'll see his traits and ancillaries (if he has any ancillaries, to add, just type "ancillaries overseer , monk" etc, without the quotes.

For the traits, they all have different ranks, for example there's Loyal 1, 2 and 3, StrategyChivalry 1,2,3,4 etc. If you want a really good general, just look at the different factions leaders for example HRE's leader, and copy his traits, and then change some numbers and add some ancillaries etc. However, only add extra numbers if you're sure that rank exists, so search for the trait + the number you want before changing anything, or the campaign wont start. Same with ancillaries, you can't have too many and they have to be spelled exactly right and you can't use higher ranks mixed with lower ranks, don't change names or ages also, that wont start the campaign either.

Also, if you want to see a list of all ancillaries, just go into Export_descr_ancillaries or something like that, in medieval 2/data, you can for example make your general the king of the world by adding all the Crown_x ranks to him, like Crown_spain, Crown_britain etc. There's also the leader of the orders, teutonicgm, templargm, hospitallergm (or hospitalgm)

And "oking_x" is to make him the duke of different cities, like "oking_hamburg", "oking_oslo" etc.

Clouds across Europe Mod lets you build generals once every 10 turns provided you have a citadel.

What about modding his age so that he doesnt. Work a kind of highlander bit to it. The king can die in battle or to assassins but never by age.

Yes, all of this is possible. But you cannot stop natural death as far as I know.

To create new generals you'll have to edit descr_strat.txt. I couldn't find any articles on modding this, sorry. You'll have to search yourself.
To edit the files, you'll have to first unpack them from the compressed datafiles. There is a program in the tools folder named unpacker.exe You'll have to use this to unpack the textfiles. Instructions for the program are available in the tools folder. (Do not run unpack_all.bat; it will take forever.)
