18th Century tactics?

For those who have AOR, at a point you'll get 17th and 18th century armies. I haven't reached there yet as I am starting with an early campaign.

I'm quite sure, Battles with these armies are a bit different then what we have now, and how do you fight these? what tactics? Having thought about it, All I can come up with is: just have more men then the ennemy because the battle will probably end up a shooting match, and numbres will win those. Or get to higher ground and shoot the ennemy from there.

Am I mistaking? Have any of you been outnumbred and victorious? what re the best tactics with the late troops?

Which AOR mod adds units from that far in the future?

AOR Colonies (Unit) Expanded (New Release 17/08/08) That one, instaling it is a bit complex for some people make sure you read everything carefully, It took me a week to realise I first had to install AOR mod (he links to it in the first post) since this is an an expansion of it

Follow the instructions in the first post, if you get Crashes to desktop after the install, do this:

Copy the contents from C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\world\map

to

C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\world\maps

Finding the posts explaining how to fix issues took me another 2 weeks, they are scattered throughout the thread.

That submod for stainless steel diserves it's own subforum if you ask me
