    Hello guys. I have a problem. I want to add the french unit "Scots Guard" to Holy Roman Empire, and I made that:

    battle_models.modeldb I change:

    But when I run the game with my bat. file (medieval2.exe @mod.cfg --io.file_first) the game crash. I don't understand why. Somebody can help me please?

    Have you check the EDU file in the ownership section Hre it has to be included in it, other wise it wont work.Si necesitas mas ayuda mandame un pm! suerte.

    Ah, menos mal que aquí alguien habla español , ya es bastante difícil entender los tutoriales como para hacerlo en inglés. EDU is Export_descr_units??? Yes in this file I changed that:

    That should work as long as the textures and AttachmentSets already exist for the hre.

    But that doesn´t fix his problem , back to topic.
    revisaste el archivo mesh en el directorio ke te indica tu battlemodel.db? si pm significa private message!
    Creo ke te falta el Edb export_descr_building.txt agregale a hre en donde se encuentran al scot_guard creo ke eso debe solucionar el problema, si no creo ke tiene ke ver con el swicht mode ke usas! suerte.

    I want to add more units (Armored Swordsmen, Voulgiers, Dismounted Conquistadores, Aventuros, Dismounted French Archers, Yeoman Archers, Templar Knights and Hospitaller Knights). I know that I have to change that files: battle_models.modelDB and export_descr_units.txt. I know that I have to add : 3 hre, but I don't know to change the other numbers T_T.

    Sorry but the game still crash. Now, when it's loading the battle. If It helps, I have two SEGA files, one with 1.3 version and kingdoms expansion (I change the name of the file to SEGA - 1) and another one with 1.0 version. In the first I have installed xenophonia mod only, and in the second is not installed any mod.

    battlemodels is a horrible file. If the file is the same as in vanilla I'd strongly recommend replacing it with knighterrant's formatted version (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1180). It's laid out in like Eothese did. The syntax error is a lifesaver too. Run that and it should come up with most errors you've accidently created.

    Quick question: Do you even have this file: "mtw2_LN_halfplate_scotsguard_hre.texture"? You might want to test it with France's textures first.

    The number that you put in blue are telling the file how many characters there are in the line of information that follows. So unit_models/_Units/LN_3QPlate_HalfPlate/textures/mtw2_LN_halfplate_scotsguard_hre.texture
    has 89 characters in it. Also the number of spaces is very important and must be maintained correctly.
    If you check the folder where each new line is pointing to and make sure the texture IS there you can use it, if not then keep to the france texture. EG
    3 hre
    92 unit_models/_Units/LN_3QPlate_HalfPlate/textures/mtw2_LN_halfplate_scotsguard_france.texture

    Hope that helps.

    Ahhh, it's ok, I will check the folder. Then, if the texture file is not exists, I have to copy and rename the original texture file (in this case, of france) or I have to do anything?

    You can either copy the texture from france to hre and rename it, or you can just point to the france texture FOR hre as I posted in reply 11. Pay great attention to the number of spaces, any mistake and it won't work.

    Ok thanks. But I want to do other thing:
    I want to create new infantry units for the Holy Roman Empire based in this unit: Dismounted Imperial Knights. In the game, this unit use a mace. I want to clone this unit but change the weapons of the soldiers: for example, I want to add a unit of archers that have the armour and the aspect of the Dismounted Imperial Knights.

    Sure do!
    Its not really my field yet, but I believe to change a units weapons you must edit the mesh files. I would suggest you have a look in the skins, models and animations section and see what you find there. You will most likley need some 3d editing software.
