Re: SPQR Campaign Advice
Hannibal and the carthaginians in italie :
take the garrison out of the city in sicily, destroy all buildings in the city that is located on sicily (it will give you some extra money) and leave it for the greeks ore carthaginians, don' t worry about sicily. use the garrison that you are transporting from sicily to garrison capua (now you don' t need to recruit a new garrison) attack hannibal with quintus if you are in battle don' t forget to deselect the fire at will button on your valites becous thy need all there ammo to fire on the elephants. set your hastati and principes in fire at will mode (extra fire power to weaken your attacking enemy). afther defeating hannibal move your 2 armies to destry the mercenary armie and retake taras.
Gauls :
gauls are easy to defeat, check the tactics thread for some good tactics, when in battle use the shieldwall formation (klick the loose formation button you will see how thy get closer to each other) set your hastati and principes in fire at will mode for the extra damage. one gaul army will probebly attack genoa and an other one will be close by. what happend in my campaign was i destroyed one of the gaul armies that was siegen genua and the other army whent back to gaul terretory and would stay there for a few turns. intill it got reinforced by an other gaul army but at that point i refited my 2 legions that destroyed the carthaginians in italie and i moved them up north to fight the gauls.
building :
first try to biuld a lot of roads, traders and so on to set up your economy. thry building the pro consul building in capua as fast as possible. this will give you the chanse to build barraks to refit your legions that suffered loses from fighting hannibal.
hope this will help. and enjoy SPQR
