    Default A question about Islam..

I dont know much about Islam so I'm just wondering, how do you see Jesus? As a type of role model? As just another false prophet (i.e. how christians see Mohammed) A kind of 'holy' man (not in divine connection but in... meaning if that makes sense)?

No, as a true prophet, divinely chosen to spread the teachings of the one true god.

But arent his teachings different from that of Islam? I thought Islam believed the Bible was a corrupt book. (Could be wrong about this)

Yes his teachings are different because the nature of jesus is different. In Islam, jesus is not part of the holy trinity as the son of god; a concept wich is considered blasphemy as there is but only one god and he is allah.

Aaah... I see. So he is a fairly revered figure then. It gets confusing since everything I learn at my Christian school gives a rather skewed view of Islam (big surprise) and usually gets it wrong in the details.. or just 'fails to mention' some things.

Revered in the sense that he was pure and free of sin.

From what I can gather, having had many discussions with muslims on the interwebby, muslims see Jesus as a prophet of God, but a special one, a 'Messiah' (which has nothing to do with the Jewish or Christian view of the same title). They also accept his statements in the Gospels (they call it 'Injeel' I think) only insofar as they conform with their Koran. Anything else has been corrupted.

it's true, although not all statements that do not conform with Quran is corrupted, many of them are misinterpreted(as Muslims believe). Both in the New Testament and the Old Testament.
"Egyptians; to the young rebels, and to every one who was killed, bloodied or contributed in the simplest way, what you did has defied any description. you have the world on it's knees gazing at your bravery and determination. you have opened up a new chapter in Egyptian history, one that will be determined by people's love for this country" - an honorable revolutionary,
