    Default Dark Age Pecheneg issues

    After having played with the County of Barcelona in the Dark Age campaign with no problems, I have found some issues when playing the pecheneg (DA again).

    Pechenegs don't seem to be able to build fleets, whatever the city level and/or buildings; maybe it's a intentional mod feature or are they any hidden requirements? They are even unable to repair damaged mercenary fleets.

    The other issue could not be related directly to pechenegs, dark age or even this mod, but I'd not seen it previously: when an assault during a winter turn is launched, the loading screen appears to freeze for ages (in fact, the first two times I reset the computer thinking it was frozen). Eventually, if the computer is let alone for some long minutes while listening to the complete Polotvsian Dances , the battle screen finally appears.
    I'm using WinXP SP2 and 2 Gigs mem. It seems related to the snow effect, but as I said before, I had never seen it before while playing any M2TWK mod or vanilla


    Anyway, the mod is still superb, as Ive already said in other posts, and I know the Dark Age campaign is a beta. Just to let you know

    I will have to check the files, but my first thought is that they were nomands and not sailors. Will have to verify this.


    I will have never had a problem with a winter battle, but will try to duplicate.

    I have absolutely no problem with that, civilizations that never had naval technology should not have the ability to build fleets, imho. My real doubt is if the absence of fleet repairing was also intentional.


    And, as a suggestion, perhaps the "cons" in the faction description could mention the lack of shipbuilding abilities. Ilkhanids/timurids seem to have the same limitation, for example.

    I remember DV and I had this very discussion. I believe what we can do is let them build ships from a captured port, while not being able to build their own.

    We probably need more dicussion on this, as they could force the conquered population to build them

    I will have to play a campaign, to see for myself.

    Actually, Ilkhanids in the late era can't build fleets but can repair them in captured ports (well, not any great docks at their starting provinces , so all their ports are 'captured'). Pechenegs in the Dark Age don't do in any case.
