does anyone else think its really overrated.
i mean no offense, but more people die in one day then they did in that attack.
200,000 people died in the attack and aftermath of the hiroshima bombing and i dont see many memorial services over here.

Yes, it definately is "overated" but its also quite terrible. Especially since this isn't by natural causes but by a terrorist attack.
i know,it was pretty horrible but like not enough respect is given to the victims of nagasaki and hiroshima

Terrorism is terrorism, whether from a backpack full of explosives, a hijacked airplane, or a stealth bomber.
And yeah, Guiliani milks it. His whole speech at the RNC seemed like belittling community organizers, joking like rich white olds and then "9/11!" and everyone grows solemn. It's BS.

Whats the argument here?
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were legitimate military targets key to the Japanese war machine. Home to a major port, stock piles of supplies and Japanese Army and Marine headquarters. The stock piles of supplies were being used to arm the home army of around 500,000. An Army that had combat experience, and would have been the main fighting force had the allies invaded aside from armed civilians.
The Japanese military-led government were spreading lies to their people which led them to kill their entire families instead of being taken prisoner. During the combat on Okinawa they started a program in which women were trained with sharpened wood spears to kill at least one American or allied soldier before killing themselves and their families.
The Japanese would be better served by condemning the actions of the the Japanese empire which led to the deaths of almost one million Japanese civilians during WW2, before the dropping of two small yield nuclear bombs.
They were given an ultimatum called the Potsdam Deceleration, which clearly stated that without surrender japan would continue to be attacked. For six months the allies did everything they could ratchet up the pain, Japan didn't respond as hundreds of thousands of their people were burned to death in multiple cities.
After the two A-bombs, they agreed to that Deceleration, which if they simply would have before, would have saved roughly 300-400,000 Japanese civilians.
