    Default Crusades

Is there any way how to mod crusades in SS? i didnt played kingdom vanila campaigns, but i suppose America campaign dont have crusade enabled in exe.

What exactly can be changed in crusades? I was looking in several threads here or in org page, but without any luck - most of the time informations are about pre-kingdom M2TW which is too old.

    so, here are my questions:
    - is possible to turn them off at certain time?
    - is possible to specify setlements that are aimed by crusades called by Pope?
-is possible edit how much AI will want to join them?

    yes inside the descr_regions.txt

    Code:
    Roman_Province
        Rome
        papal_states
        Italian_Rebels
        52 13 198
        crusade
        5
        4
        religions { catholic 99 orthodox 0 islam 0 pagan 0 heretic 1 }
give the settlement the attribute crusade

I took the attribute 'crusade' out of all the Egyptian cities, but it still sent the first crusade to Cairo. Any suggestions?

Hey, James, I noticed in Descr_regions there's other attributes like "Grain, dyes, textiles" etc, constantinople had alot of them, is that why it earns so much money? Would it be possible to add, for example, all of the possible trading resources to a city so it will get a load of money?

Also noticed teutonic_knights_chapter_house in some of the HRE cities, can I add this to all of the castles in the HRE aswell?

yes you then can include the trade resource in the dersc_strat this will boost trade and income the settlement makes.

Ok, noticed one thing tho, the numbers in the regions doesn't match the ones in the strat, for example Frankfurt_Province
    Frankfurt
    hre
    German_Rebels
    63 232 41

    and then

    resource chocolate, 144, 204;frankfurt

so what are these numbers? "144, 204" etc? How do I make sense out of it so I can add new resources to the city?

those numbers "63 232 41" are the colors(RGB) for the region no X and Y coords are present in this file.

You have to delete the map.rwm file.

    Sorry just saw this thread.

The Crusades are tied to the papal states faction, hardcoded actually. No Pope = no Crusades, though you might take a look at how the warpath is done in the Americas campaign.

    Nope.

Well sort of, but that is also controlled by who owns a settlement. If say Egypt took London, London would become a valid Crusade target because of the religion.

That Crusade target tag just specifies which cities can be targets early in the game. I have actually seen France be the target of a Crusade when they were excommunicated.

-is possible edit how much AI will want to join them?
Not really. The Crusades are pretty much a requirement for Catholic factions. There are some AI parameters that can be changed but I am not sure how much affect they will have as one of the main goals for the Catholic factions is to stay on the good side of the Pope.

Those two numbs are x/y coordinates on the campaign map.

trading resources in the hidden resource line of descr_regions has got no effect. I tried it with various of them but there was no increase in money or population rate (grain). Guess another leftover from RTW.
Had success changing the order of cities with the crusade resource. Put Cairo below Jerusalem and the first crusade was to Jerusalem.

I confirm, GIGANTUS is right (as always) - my test results are the same... There can be deleted to free up the limit for hidden resources (of course if in EDU).
