    Default Missing Region String

    Ave all,

Seem to be getting this error trying to apply a map update:

    Code:
    19:49:01.562 [script.err] [error] Script Error in auh/data/world/maps/base/descr_regions.txt, at line 6, column 1
Couldn't find region name 'North_America' in stringtable
What that error means from my understanding, is it can't find the entry:

    {North_America} North America Region
in the file imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt in the data/text folder, since that is what handles the "strings" for the regions.

However the string is clearly there, and the bin file is being generated just fine. Additionally, what fixed the problem before for Yelu doesn't seem to be working, which was making sure the file had:

    ¬
    {North_America} North America Region
The symbol at the top. As well, there is no syntax error in descr_regions_and_settlement_name_lookup.txt which at the top reads:

    North_America
    Miccosukee
    etc.
And lastly, no errors in descr_regions.txt or in descr_sounds_music_types.txt or in descr_strat.txt .... . Any thoughts :hmmm:?

    Cheers,
    Augustus

Yup, that's how I know the .strings.bin is being generated.

Dunno off hand, but if you want me to take a look I'll have a few hours spare later...
    And tommorow.

Open the strings.bin version of the file with notepad. There will be a bunch of crap you cant read, but you should be able to tell if it generated properly.

You can always try changing the region name, see if that does anything.

Well oddly enough, it was solved by Yelu the same way as before:

The stringtable error was solved by the same process as before insert the line:
¬ Names for regions and settlements in the imperial campaign and saving in unicode.
Which is odd, because mine was saved in Unicode, and I had the little ¬ thing, so the only difference I'm seeing is the text "Names for regions and settlements in the imperial campaign", but that is commented out by ¬ so it makes no sense(and it isn't in my other working version).

Oh well, tis life with CA code, I kind of figured I'd get the generic responses to the error, but figured I'd post here anyways in case anyone else has experienced this particular oddity. I'll keep an eye out for it happening again. For now, problem solved.

    Cheers,
    Augustus
