[NTW AAR] British AAR

My last AAR (Eprius emortal) seemed to have died so i have decided to start a new one. Aniway i havent found a Napoleonic AAR and i Realy like the period. Well hope you enjoy!!!

Pre-emtive strike

The new power in europe was france. After the revolution country after country declared war. At first it seemed france was beat,until they unleashed there secret wepon-Napoleon Bonaparte. He drove back the austrian invaders. Thrashed the prussians and stalled the english. now it was time to strike back. By attacking his ally the dutch-belgians. we had a chance to draw valuble french men away from the austrian front.


A cold wind pierced the command tent as General barnard planned the attack. "sir,we could atack the Dutch seperatly before the french re-inforcements arrive" Major Adam said. "that way half there army will be defeated before they have a chance to fight back".
"yes, but our re-enforcements will be here soon" General Bernard argued. Major Adam showed him his detailed plans
"fine an attack it is".


the small british army lined up infront of the Dutch men, ready to die.

The dutch army outnumbered them by 3 battalions but most were a
quickly assembled milita there to hold us rather than beat us. Men crossed themselves as the armies neared. From his vantage point General Barnard saw his men,unwavering in there thin line.

then the Dutch grenadiers charged towards the line in the face of regular british fire
The riflemen guarding the artillery picked of the officers and the colourbearers taking out many with extreame accuracy whilst the howitzers plunged shrapnel into packed ranks. Already the cavalry were ready to spring Major Adam's trap.

already 2000 Dutch had fallen to our 230.No ammount of training could make you stand that for long and many dutch fled. Our cavalry and infantry simultaniously charged the wavering dutch and encircled them.

Now the core of the enamy were trapped and our men killed mercilessly
now the real genius of the plan came into action, one unit of heavy cavalry had encircled the Dutch and now routed there army. the three units of cavalry hunted the enamy for 20 muinetes.

Neadless to say this was a great victory!!

you should use -movie_cam to take pictures and watch out for the arrow in the pictuers and the units things. for the rest it s an oke aar hope to read the next part soon. only i didn' t like it you call us napolions ally' s.

yeah it was only for the story and i wanted to play against dutch first so i thought it would fit

French retaliation
when the french finaly heared of the Dutch defeat the decided to make a swift example of the small expeditionary british force. we dug in on a hill village...

"shall i line the troops up sir,the enamy advance." Colonel Adam said.
"yes of course make sure no friendly fire is possible though" Replied General Bernard.
The men were lined so that the french flanks were constantly pounded by fire no matter which way they faced.

the disorderly french lines ran towards the disiplined english troops who pumped round ofter round into the main body of the french.

the two flanking battalions who were hiding in a copse of wood slowly crept towards the french reserve old guard. Meanwhile the french centre was slowly reatreating under constant british bombardment ;the time had come to charge

as soon as the ranks made contact french units they began to slowly rout. A few muintes later the entire army was fleeing, bar one unit of old guard.

then the flanking battalions struck and broke the guard victory was ours!!

Writing a AAR must make you a beter player or somthing because i never win this easy!!

lol i see you had a lot of militia units in the frensh army change them with line infanterie thy will beat the hell out of you.
non the less well done.

thats because i was trying to show the french army worked with those crap collums filled with millita.... the computer doesnt seem to use collums tho

Edit: and for 1 old guard you can get 5 national guards n i only had 11500

Re-taking Lisbon

Brigadier Adam paced up and down the command tent.
He had been given the task of clearing a large french-dutch
force from the main road to lisbon.
They had landed north of Lisbon a week ago and had
already destroyed one french army sent to defeat them.

He had the strength list of his army infront of him.


There was also a small allied portugise army of irregulars.

His information of the french army was unreliable but
there was definatly a unit of elite old guard 5 light infantry units
and no milita. This would be his hardest fight yet. a small dutch
army also accompined the french.



"advance!" The light companies ran towards the dutch.Riflemen
picked of aimed targets and the main lights fired random shots at
the enamy.as the dutch got nearer riflemen and lights began to
withdraw, bringing some dutch with them. Our cavalry saw their
chance. They charged into the side of the dutch infantry.



In a few seconds the majority of the dutch army were routing.
Now Adam turned to face the aproaching french storm.
He lined his troops up between two ditches so there flanks
were covered.

a mass of french skirmishers advanced to harry our line. Also
a flanking force of currasiers were engaged with our cavalry
in a bitter struggle for the flank.


Now a slow trickle of french line were approaching our line.
round after round of lead were poured into french bodies
but still they advanced. 10 Battalions of french line now fought
our men.


The toll of our bullets had weakend the enamy ranks
Now was the time for a counter-charge!!
As they realised what was happening the french grouped for pretection.


They broke after vicous hand to hand fighting. Now our
remaining cavalry had the chance to persue.
Many frenchmen died until we reached the last obstical.

One unit of old guard. We fired 3 vollies into them and
charged! They stood and fought to the last. Brave men.



Another Heroic victory to add to Adams legend.
